Has anyone ever experienced their car "jacking down"?
"Jacking down" is a term to describe the wheel getting pushed further and further up and your car basically lowering itself because the rebound adjustment on your dampers is too high, preventing the damper from extending back to it's normal position. I've heard many people mention this, but has anyone on here actually experienced it?

"Packing" is the term used most often to describe this.
One misnomer with adjustable dampers is that you can adjust the high and low speed damping circuits. Usually the adjusters affect the low speed damping, which is the stability of the chassis, resistance to dive, etc. it's generally not the rapid fast impacts, which is set by the shim stacks in the dampers. |
