AM-RB 001 - Aston Martin and Red Bull hyper car

2 versions are suppose to be released. Street and track only. Street version is said to be able to lap Silverstone at the same time as a LMP1 and track only is suppose to lap faster than a Formula 1 car.

Jethbro says FASTER than an F1 car, 1000+ hp NA v12 with electric motor(s?), and 1 hp / kg, so really goddamn light. Can't wait to see more

Silhouette is pretty much the same as a prototype Le Mans racer.

So pretty in a clinically clean aero way.

Wow. It might be faster than an f1 since it does not need any open wheels much better airflow. I bet newey has a hand in the design.

The entire design is done by Newey

Sitting position is suppose to be like a F1 car. Legs go above hips.

This! Newey said there is huge benefits in having the driver in a ball rather than regular sitting position. Better center of gravity.

So far removed from a car you could use for anything else that it's boring.

By not abiding with a million weight and drag regulations that F1 has...plus an F1 is ttV6 this thing is a V12 with electric motor assist.
This car for obvious reasons wouldn't be legal on an F1 grid and it's "cheating" in order win, give F1 engineers autonomy to make a car without weight and drag penalties and I bet the outcome would be different.

Nonetheless, this car is pretty freaking epic. I haven't been this in awe since I saw a P1 moving around a track, would not have thought Aston Martin could produce such machine, huge kudos. Bet a couple a peeps at McLaren and Ferrari have raised eyebrows.

Hard to believe, F1 has sticky tires and massive downforce, for it to be superior it would need more downforce than an F1 car and similar sticky tires. I think it's bs- especially in the street version where they claim it will be comfortable to drive every day but turn up at track and hit LMP1 times

I'd probably believe the claims about the lap times before the "comfort" part lol

For even better weight savings why not have the driver outside the car on the grandstand and drive the car by remote control?

That car is going to have crazy downforce. It's basically one big wing. That rear end will generate so much low pressure, it's going to suck the car onto the ground. The underbody is where the magic happens with this car.. Spoilers aren't the only way to get downforce.

They said lap time is 2min 32sec and F1 car has 1min 52 sec, so 40 sec less for F1 car ! How is that faster than F1 ? Listen at 2min on the video. I have hard time to understand what exactly he is saying but that thats what I think is

They were refereeing to the Agera one:1 lap time .. Not the AM RD lap time.

They were basically saying it's going to be 40 seconds faster than what is currently one of the fastest street legal cars.
