Traffic ticket in Italy
Last night I received a speeding ticket from Italy. I was doing 82kmh in a 70kmh zone..haha really like 6mph difference and in our cars if you sneeze that can happen..haha.. the fine is only 40euro not bad but i can not for the life of me fig out how to pay it. Has anyone paid a ticket they received? and if so how
thanks |

I racked up about 6 tickets in Italy. They have electronic monitoring on their "Autostradas", Similar to buzzing through an EZ pass. So every time you exceed the speed limit your car gets tagged. In any case, if it was a rental car expect a ticket to follow you back to the U.S. at the address you listed with the rental company.

If it happened in a town, you generally go pay the municipal police inside city hall. On the autostrada, there should be instructions on the ticket. You can translate it with the Google translate app on your phone.
If you're already out of the country, this may be difficult to resolve without finding someone to translate over the phone for you. My guys get tickets all the time and I get calls from the police interpreter asking for them to go to city hall. If you can post photos of the ticket we may be able to be of more assistance. |

You would think that if they went to the trouble of tracking you down, they would have a way to pay? I will be over there this fall... I'll have to try and be good.

That thing sucks... On my last trip on Switzerland they have send me 6 tickets and they are even sending me more. I will make a collection of every Swiss camera.
Even for 3 km more!!! And the rental company charges you even 35 euros for every ticket for bothering to send your data to the police... If you don't pay what they can do to you? |

If you don't plan on going back to Italy any time soon you can ignore it, unless they manage to force the rental car company to collect the fine on their behalf. If that's a US entity like Hertz you're stuck.

Depends on where you live. I assume from this question you don't live in Italy or Europe. In that case there's nothing that will happen unless you visit Italy again **
** disclaimer: your might see a small charge on your credit card if you rented a car at one of those car rental companies where in small print it says they can and will bill your credit card for any traffic fines along with additional fees for their services. |
