2018 Audi RS 3 Sedan Canadian Pricing Leaked

http://www.quattroworld.com/audi-new...ricing-leaked/

Quote:
The 2018 Audi RS 3 Sedan will start at $62,900 in Canada, according to an options sheet that we obtained from a dealer.

Although the price is in Canadian dollars, it gives a hint as to what the RS 3 will cost in America. Current MSRPs vary about 10%-15% between Canada and the US, but American performance models, such as the S3 and RS7 only cost about 8.5% less. Based on that, the US model could cost between $53,000 and $55,000.

The leaked document also reveals that the RS 3 Sedan will be offered in seven colors, which include silver, black, red, and blue. The car will come standard with 19′ 5-Arm-Blade Design Wheels, and three additional, optional rims, which are also five spoked and 19″ across.

There’s a slew of standard features, including aluminum pedals, Bang & Olufsen sound, and Audi Pre-sense basic, and four additional packages. These range from $850 to $1,750 CAD.

Every RS 3 Sedan comes with Audi’s 2.5-liter 5 cylinder engine, making 400 hp, which, incidentally the most you can get from any 5-cylinder engine today. That power is routed to all four wheels through a 7-speed S tronic transmission.

That's not a leak there was an official press release from Audi with CAD pricing. US pricing is pure speculation at this point.

needs fender flares and a man pedal. Fast a3 with a body kit. Meh. But damn it's tempting. Easily 500hp with some light work.

Good luck getting a man pedal anytime soon. Audi is starting to dump the manual for their DSG. Only BMW is keeping their manuals.

On the other hand, front CCB for 5800$? Damn.

If the rear drive shafts are the same as the Golf R, they're about the size of a #2 pencil, so maybe they're just being smart by fitting wider tires to the heavier end and the one that gets more torque. GM did it on the fwd V8 Impalas.

I just still can't imagine they'd go that route. Then again, who knows. Guess we'll see soon.

Also, the Impala SS didn't have staggered sizes. Only the Grand Prix GXP did.

Looks like they're serious:
https://www.caranddriver.com/amp/rev...t-drive-review

In its standard configuration, the car comes with 235/35-19 rubber front and rear. However, there's the unusual option of 255/30-19 tires for the front only, which allow the RS3 to tackle corners with even greater eagerness.

I drove that car in Stockholm. Was pretty awesome. Had summer rubber on thigh and was cold out so didn't go crazy. Sounded amazing - absolutely amazing.

Still has that bland A3 interior. I'd pass.

Could it be because of the typical nose-heavy Audi set-up?

It probably adds a little neutrality. Nearly all front engineered (rwd) cars have more understeer with a staggered setup than a square setup. It wouldn't surprise me if the optional wider front tires on the RS3 give it a mild amount of oversteer.

Whoa - over $10k more than a CLA45?

http://www.mercedes-benz.ca/content/...17.html#/p3501

Now, I would tend to favor the RS3 if I had a choice, and we'll see which one is favored by the press once the reviews are out, but $10k more seems like a huge ask. I didn't compare standard equipment so I am not sure how that compares between the two. But even if the CLA45 has considerably less standard, for those who tend to want as few extras as possible, starting out $10k lower and being able to add what you want is a definite advantage.

Where are you coming up with 10 grand?? The CLA45 starts at 50K. This is estimated to start between 53-55K. And the RS3 comes with more power and an I5 rather than I4. Seems well worth it to me.

Did you forget that this thread is about Canadian pricing?

Per the OP the RS3 is $62,900 in Canada and, per the link I posted the CLA45 is $51,800 in Canada.

US pricing has not yet been announced or leaked.

US dealer said they have the options list but not pricing yet... he said he'd send order guide but I don't have it yet. I'll post it if he sends it; hopefully we can order without the sunroof. Comes very loaded, so pricing looks good all things considered. I'll definately get with the wider front tires... since AWD drives like FWD, it makes sense to have wider primary driver tires, just like the M2 has wider rear tires... I haven't totally given up on the M2, but increasingly likely I'll get an RS3 since I can't seem to get an M2

Yup. Would not even consider it.
