Help me convince BMW to return to F1

Hi all! This message is for the person that is in charge of BMW - the head honcho somewhere in Germany. Please make sure this message gets to him.

We need BMW in F1! Come on, the brand is one of the biggest out there. It's been over ten 10 years since BMW withdrew from F1. Recession is over guys. Everybody wants a BMW and everybody wants to see you compete out there.

Ok fellow friends, please help me get this message out to the main man. I'm putting it out into the universe - this will happen. Let's go guys!

F1, F1, F1!

I'm sure BMW feels the need to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to develop a new Power Unit.

Hate to spoil the fun on this thread. But just looked at Honda, just being a PU supplier had them miserable years with McLaren. Finally got some solid results with RBR and STR.

I don't think BMW will want to spend billions as a factory team. (Now F1 you will need to be a factory team to be successful, RBR is closer to be a factory team now with their structure and scale).

The upcoming 2021 FI regs may level the playing field and the current PU parameters may change dramatically....perhaps NA and no FI....which could play into BMW's hands, as they have significant experience in delivering world-class efficacy (HP to cubic displacement ratio)....aka the S54.

Imagine the current BMW being a Formula 1 constructor! They’d spend all this development on the F1, the MF1i X-drive, the iF1, the XF1M Competition package....their drivers would be so confused.

X2, strange that people post that they are clueless about something that doesn't require you to like it to know it is out there. I don't watch Nascar but I also don't act surprised when I hear that people go to the races.

I don't know all the particulars but there were earlier rumors that Porsche might jump in for the 2021 reg changes, but from what I remember hearing, FIA announced they are actually staying with the turbo 6 -hybrid model they currently have so Porsche has decided not to pursue after all.

As of 2018 it looks like BMW had about 2.3% of the world car market share, McLaren was less than 0.4%, not even on the chart that I found. I'm not sure this is a solid argument you're trying to make here.
