stop being so harsh guys... Audi has little or no brand equity in the US, as their sales figures show. It also does not help that their cars (specially the diesel Audi 80s and 100s in the 80s and early 90s were pieces of $^!@). Most consider the brand offings as spiced up VWs.

Audi is comparing the B8 A4 to the 328xi which, i think, gets worst mpg.

I was at a Audi dealership today in LA and believe it or not, the R8 there was 210,000$
Above that, my friend (whom I was there for) was looking at A5 fully loaded with S-Line, they didn't have the specs he wanted in stock. But they had one in the Used inventory with 4000 miles, believe it or not that car was 55,600$ before tax and all... The dealer was gonna give it to him for 53,100$ before tax but right before he could make the deal, it was sold to another gentleman for 54,100$ before tax. Godamn those Audis are being overpriced

The thing about BMW's is that they age well. When the E92 came out I wasn't a big fan,now I love the design.
When the A5 first came out,I liked it right away,Now I find it bulky kinda looks like a two door Hyundai Sonata. And I hate their interiors now since they quit copying the E46's interior. |

I think they have progressed a LOT. I want them to succeed, so that maybe I can have a decent alternative to the gazillion BMWs I see here on the streets every day.
Last week I test drove the new A4 3.2 at the Woodland Hills dealer. I was not impressed. I honestly wanted to be impressed. I want a European daily driver alternative to BMW/MB. But that thing felt heavy and the steering seemed distant. I kind of liked the interior but after a while discovered that it's really overly busy. There are just too many buttons and switches and things all over the place. And the leather is a greasy, odd sort of stuff (?) The overall feeling was VW-like. I realize it's all subjective, but I wasn't overly impressed enough. The weird thing, imho, was the headliner. An strange mesh like material. Ive had all BMW cars so far... 325ci, M3, another M3, X5 4.8is..
But I will be the first to admit Audi is going in the RIGHT direction with the new line of cars. The A4/A5 is beautiful

I test drove one too,the leather looked cheap also the seats have some crazy stiching patterns on them and the dashboard was too busy with too many buttons and lights. Also I didn't like the gray rear view mirror plastics a la MB SL. I drove a 3.2 l model, the car felt heavy,I'd take an E46 325i over it.The only thing I kinda liked was the quality of the leather wrapped steering wheel.I really think the E90 dakota leather looks ten times better than Audi's. I'm on my 5th BMW and who cares...Audi new models always come out swinging after a year they always tend to be dated. Oh whatever happened to the new A6? |
