Looks real, because it looks so bad. Take the already-butt-ugly M240i rear end, make it worse!
Everything about the new 2 makes the old F87 look dated - but in a way that makes the F87 look like the timeless classic it already is.

Looks similar to the 2002 homage concept

Thats the one , matches with the leaks , the color , the bumper , and the widebody rear. I dont know why all this negativity . It looks cool , ofc it would be different than F87 what you expected , each car has its character.

Like I mentioned in the other thread, I don't mind it... I just don't see anything special here or any sort of improvement over the F87.

I suspect greater traction will be a given as this is always everyone's gripe... however I suspect it will come w a larger, heavier car and with an 8spd auto vs dct... again this is the absolute smallest car BMW makes in the USA... u could look at that from many angles.

Cutting out the unnecessary bits of the pic. I don't think it's horrible - a bit blocky for sure, which is a shame. Seems like a step or 4 backwards in design. I don't think it looks modern or the next iteration of the OG style.
Audi is getting their designs right - their cars look very modern, like logical iterations, sleek as all get out. And I am not really an Audi fan. The goofy lines/angles look like origami gone wrong. (I just figured out why I don't like the front end of the M240i.) I don't hate it, but unlike how I felt when the OG2'er came out, it's not making me want to rush out & buy one. Gotta see it in person.

Given the M240, I'm not surprised. Wider fender and tires, more aggressive bumper/diffuser and trunk lid, M3/4 wheels. Is the front that i'm concerned about.

Color looks decent. How is anyone surprised by the looks, it will be 95% the same as the M240i.
Actually from the leaks the front will look much worse (boxier, etc.). The G42 already had lots of M bits the F22 did not (wide rear flairs, power dome, m mirrors, etc.), thus the jump to the new G87 will not be as pronounced. The performance is what we should be interested in. Curious how porky it will be, shit gas mileage will be, and if it will start at $66K or so. |
