2023 Genesis G90
This car looks vey attractive both inside and out. With 90-100k it is also a relative bargain (compared to A8, S Class and 7-series). I wish it could be had with a V8 engine.

My biggest problem with Genesis is that I don't think their designs are going to age well. They keep overhauling the look of them every few years, and although they look nice now, they aren't very classic designs (I like the heritage look of the big Audi, BMW, and MB flagships...they still look fresh 10 years down the road).
That being said, the G90 is impressive especially for the money. The attention to detail on the interior is "old Lexus like". I guess just lease it and move on to the completely new design language that is sure to come in 3/4 years.

A very impressive successor to the original G90, I like that Genesis is still trying to give this market a shot despite the abysmal sales numbers.
I definitely think while they are still not at German level in some areas, they are surpassing Lexus in others. The LS use to rule this class, and now, I feel as if they are a footnote while this Genesis is clinging to what made the LS a strong seller, value. Reliability is TBD, but otherwise a strong effort. That being said, there are still some issues I have with this car: First is design. Like the 7er, the side and rear look great, but that front end is far too in your face and the grill is gigantic and overwrought. Also I find the two wheel choices to both be a bit too overstyled. I prefer a much more traditionally styled vehicle that will age well. Next is the engine, I am not a fan of the Genesis V6. While they have added an E-Supercharger which is impressive technology I've experienced in my CLS 53, a V6 is just not an engine I want in a flagship, let alone the Genesis V6 which is a bit coarse compared to an MB or BMW I6 which would be preferable. That being said, I still like a good ol' V8 in this class of car, especially since this V6 is no more efficient than my S 580's V8. Last is the dealers. This is where Lexus got it right from the beginning. In order to overcome their ties to the lesser Toyota nameplate and image, Lexus has since set forth on having the best dealerships and service centers, and they've succeeded. Genesis is still relying on Hyundai dealers, and my local Hyundai dealers are awful and not where I would want to buy or service my car at all whether its $20k or $100k. |

I don't find the exterior attractive at all. Interior is nice.

Agree with most of the criticism, especially with the lack of a V8 option (previous G90 had an optional 5.0L V8) and lack of a dedicated Genesis dealership network. I do like the exterior design however. Overall, this car for 90k is a real bargain among full size luxury sedans.

My last car was a genesis 5.0, they really are excellent cars relative to what you pay. Super reliable and very well executed. The dealer network was what really killed it for me when it was time to move on to my next car, and the G90 was on the list until I really tried to wrap my head around what it would be like to actually own and service it. That will take years for the to sort out, and they haven't even really gotten a good start on that sorting process.

I drove a 2020 Genesis G70 3.3T for 2 years prior to getting my M240i in early August.
The V6 TT is very torquey, but also has a pronounced turbo lurch around 3500K. Body roll not minimized, but not prominent either. I don't know if it is a widespread issue but my brakes stuttered. Overall ride compliance was absolutely fine for a spirited DD. And it has been fixed since 2020 but the Infotainment UI was a POS. But in fairness, the audio system itself was surprisingly good.

Why do I say that about the Genesis UI? Honestly, it is about 1 thing, that you may or may not have discovered: When you have your presets displayed on the center screen and use the steering wheel button to move to the "next" preset or station, you push the button down (towards the ground). Similarly, to go "back" a preset you push the button up, or towards the roof. However, when you have a different screen displayed (ex nav, climate etc), the buttons change directions.. you have to press it up to go to the next preset and down to go back to the prior one. What is even worse, try a couple singular presses of the button in either direction and it will work as predicted. But if you press and hold that same button it wll operate in the reverse direction.

When the photos were first released I was pretty impressed. But seen a couple videos now and feel underwhelmed, especially by the interior. The interiors of the S-class and especially the forthcoming G70 7-series are truly on a different level in their design and functionality. They really push the bar forward.
The G90's interior is objectively nice and has great attention to detail. But otherwise it's a very safe and predictable cabin. Remove the Genesis logo and the interior design is ambiguous. The Genesis brand is just very geriatric to me at this point. They are nicer Lexuses.
