Hey slingray - also from Aus. Are you based in Sydney? Would be keen to hear what the car sounds like with custom exhaust w OPF delete. Finally get my car end of Oct 😊

Wow, that's impressive!!

I didn't even think one could install the M1 and M2 buttons and make them fully functional. Will definitely be looking into this with my car sometime in the future.

[QUOTE=Slingray;29351343]M240i Modifications to date
  1. MSS Height Adjustable Springs
  2. Staggered 20x10/19x9 inch Forged Rims with PS4s
  3. Functional M1, M2 steering buttons
  4. BMW M Sport Dash, HUD, Drift Analyzer, etc
  5. Dinan CAI
  6. Active Autowerks High Flow Cat
  7. JB4 with WCG
  8. Custom Exhaust with OPF Delete
  9. Carbon Lip Spoiler, Mirrors

Super helpful videos, thank you! I have a BSM '23 arriving next month and will install MSS springs and a JB4, among other items. A couple of questions.

(1) How low did you go with the MSS Springs? Are you happy with the ride quality?

(2) I have a Milltek exhaust on the way but am also considering the AA high flow cat... any drone? No CEL? What's your impression of it?

How'd you do the drift mode and whatnot? Honestly I'd love the M buttons and RDW mode. The responses in the video are vague like you just want to show off but don't want anyone else to have it lol

I sort of don't believe that you're actually able to change your xDrive into RWD. That would be huge news all over the forum.

Also, those M1 and M2 buttons don't function the same way as they do in a true M car. In a true M car, those buttons go to specific settings. You're just using them to cycle through options. But to be fair, I don't think you said that they function the same as a true M car. Just that they are functional, which is true.

Thank you, they take a lot of time to create, much quicker to mod without shooting but I hope they help someone.

I've had the springs for about 3months now. Very happy with the ride quality, they have a great reputation and I had pretty high expectations but they exceeded. Remove body roll, just as comfortable as standard but they obviously have less compression which you will notice over medium to large potholes, otherwise they ride like factory but stablise the pitch and roll very well.

The AA is a must do mod. Removes back pressure from the turbo and sounds great, deeper tone, maybe 10-15% louder, no drone at all. No CEL with AA.

I think the same about any "M lite" but it is a common term now like it or not.

You're maybe right about the Xdrive, I haven't taken the car for a spirited drive breaking the back end loose with it disabled/attempted to drift or a burn out or anything of that nature - I'll give it a proper test and see what it does. The car drives so well in Xdrive I wouldn't use this even if it did work.

And no you can't have a custom M1 or M2 program with the buttons, the software just doesn't support it but I just wanted the ability to cycle through Sport>Sport Plus>Sport Indv>Comfort, etc which it does well so that made it worth while for my needs.

Agree. Just say M240 not M2. They are technically both M cars anyways in their own segment so not sure the comparison verbiage.

Car looks amazing! Where did you get those wheels and what did they set you back if you don't mind sharing? Would love to get a set like that for my m240i.
