Is this a new m240? If so there is no reason any condensation should ever build up inside the headlight. Realistically it never should if it the headlight is in good undamaged condition. I would assume BMW would fix this for you.

I've washed mine twice with a power washer and driven through a lot of rain. No condensation at all with mine. Definitely sounds like a faulty headlight housing or gasket somewhere

No excuse
That would be scheduled to be replaced as soon as I saw it. Damaged or faulty housing.

t’s a well know and documented problem with all G42’s.
Have my both headlights schedulded for replacement (under warranty) but they are backordered for now, no delivery date known. They have been massively replaced, but even then apparently, for lots of people it didn’t solve the problem and it just came back even with the new headlights. Yours look pretty ok even. Most have really thick droplets and watermarks. This his how both of mine look. Just contact your dealer, he should take care of it |

I had noticed slight condensation on my 230 also. I am glad to hear it is covered under warranty...not so happy about the wait time.
I had one of the earliest production G42s with a date of 10/21. I wonder if this is from the very beginning including recent cars produced in 2023 too??? UPDATE: So, my headlight got really bad, then improved, all the while the other one started up. That said, I talked to the dealer a few times, brought it in, sent pix and did a lot of research. This is just flat out common on a lot of BMWs. It is in conjunction with weather mainly. There plenty of models and model years where this happens. Lots of YT videos of guys using hairdryers to blow out the opened up headlight housing. It is quite sad this is so common. Not saying don't have BMW replace it, but you may continue to have the issue. Last edited by Dinosoar; 01-13-2024 at 12:14 AM.. Reason: Update |

I'm actually also experiencing this issue. Brought it to the dealership and they told me they couldn't do anything about it because it wasn't happening in the moment (even though I had video and picture proof).
Was told to bring it in whenever the issue is present so that they can verify it in-house and make the warranty claim. |

Are they designed to be completely and permanently sealed? Or are there openings with gaskets for the bulbs and wiring? If the latter, it will keep happening unless you live in a really arid environment.

The lights are not hermetically sealed. They have the weakest of plastic to plastic access covered to the bulbs. Moisture will always get in and thus condensate. Regardless of the above , it’s f***inn annoying and not expected of a BMW. |

Rumour has it that BMW in the UK has admitted to some customers that it isn't right and so I'm hoping that message has got back to the mother ship in Germany and a rework is in the works, but, as ever, we'll have to see. |

I am also unfortunately experiencing this now. I'll report back on what I am told by the service center.

I've had both headlamps replaced under warranty. The passenger headlamp in the replacement now contains water. Will be calling dealer again re this to have it replaced
