BMW M2 Colour Problem - Solution?

I know we've all ranted about the colour selection. My current build is TR, BG is a distant second, and the rest are not in contention.

The TR posts make it look like a faded red which I think will be an issue for me on a $90k CAD car.

What about 3M wraps? Lots of colours available, I was hopeful for a metallic blue.

I have zero experience with car wraps. A few questions:

What do you think of a high quality wrap?
Can you tell it's a wrap or do some look like the real thing?
If you knew you were going to wrap, would you order the car in a specific colour (black/white) or does it not matter?

Is anyone considering this approach?

Thanks all!

A lot of people have talked about doing this. It's an expensive option to change the color of the car but it also protects.

When I saw TR in person, it was a very rich red. It was fairly overcast which could of been a factor but it wasn't as light as many of the photos. ZB is a good example of just how washed out a color can appear in photo/video. (Yes. It's still a lighter color.)

When I had my G82, I put full PPF on it, a stealth wrap and it cost me about $6k. I want to say that vinyl wraps are cheaper as I think the material is cheaper but I suspect the bulk of the cost would still be the labor to apply it.

I also have been considering getting a wrap at some point. Seems like car companies (only high end ones...you can get a spectrum of colors on a kia, lol) are reducing their color choices.
I got my GT3 in silver, because they eliminated the blue options on the year I got mine. A wrap is really the only option now. I'd love to see the M2 in a whole host of colors, especially deep metallics to show off the fender flares!

I'm absolutely considering this bc it provides protection as well. From what I've read it's generally 3-4k for a reputable shop.

Vinyl wrap is much thinner than PPF. It doesn't provide as much protection as PPF. They are different things.

I didn't say they were the same thing.

I think the shop I would be looking at going with would do the vinyl wrap with full ppf overtop.

I'll be doing full ppf anyway, about $5k CAD

I think the wrap will be another $5k CAD

Not really stoked about the price but I'm having a hard time accepting the factory colours. I think I'll get TR and see what it looks like when it arrives.

I'm checking my regional dealers regularly but none of them have TR

Never been a wrap guy. Especially in cold climates.

Is it due to shrinkage?

But I was in the pool!

To view TR in Canada, there is 1 car in Toronto and 4 in Quebec in both new and used vehicles. Nothing out West at the moment, according to BMW.ca inventory of new and used vehicles.
