I'm very curious about this since I bought the parking assistance and active cruise control packages. The tow hook option seems promising but I vaguely remember someone mentioning that it could/does interfere with one of the parking sensors.

Yes: toss the plate in your trunk. No drilling required.

I'm not going to bother with a front plate.

I was thinking about this the other day, as the law in CO is to have both front and back plates. So, on my drive home from the gym I payed attention to the front plates on the cars going the other way... legitimately I'd say ~30% of vehicles don't have a plate on the front.

I have a hard time believing anyone (cops) is going to care unless you've already done something much more illegal and they want to nail you with extras.

Here in Illinois, nobody cares about a front plate. Sometimes the cop will mention it while he has you anyway. But if you actually get a ticket for it, you must be a very unlikable person

I wish that was true in the Loop. Odds are, you won’t get written up, but it does happen. Once it does, if that cop sees you again, you’ll get ticketed every time.

When I lived in Hinsdale, I never got a ticket for it. I went years without trouble until I moved downtown.

That said, I did pick up the EOS towhook mount others here recommended. Now, all I need is to receive the car to mount it on.

I have this one:

https://www.cravenspeed.com/2023-3/

As far as interference, I had mentioned some issues with the parking assist. The dealership mentioned that it could be possible that the bracket is interfering. However, with the infrequency of occurrences, I am not convinced that it is the bracket. Additionally, I use the back-up assist every morning without any issues.

While the law in the state regarding front plates has not changed, I do see increasingly more vehicles without one.

I've had my G42 since late May. No ticket yet. If I get one, I figure I'll chalk it up as a fee— just as people pay a fee for vanity plates.

One thing that I wonder about, however, and perhaps someone here can answer this: can the parking police (what used to be known as meter-maids) issue tickets for that sort of thing? I guess it might depend on municipality-- but does anyone here live in such a municipality where they can do that?

Stray thought... what a weird, anachronistic term "meter maid" is.

Thanks! Just placed an order and should receive it right before Xmas.

Some quick googling indicates that some people definitely have been ticketed by parking enforcement in Colorado...

Sounds like another good reason to park in a parking garage if possible.
