M2 Order Price
What’re US dealers offering? Are most at MSRP or are there crazy markups ala Civic Type R? Granted it’s a new, desirable car, but curious if it’s subject to the same price mania of the past few years. FWIW, my dealer offered 5% off MSRP out the door.

Wait lists are 5-20 people deep.
Most dealers are still at MSRP but at this point saying it will be over a year for most people new to the list to actually get an allocation. |

Needless to say, it's all over the place. On the positive, one dealer I have an order with will do nothing but MSRP no matter what, and that even includes the HEA car, if they get one and if you wait 90 days or so. On the other side, 5,000 and up ADMs and also up to 5,000 deposits. The market is/has changed since mid 2022 but unfortunately not all the dealers have gotten the memo yet.

Haha I wish it were so easy. I’m moving back to the US and my dealer informed me of a June delivery, which is too late. Plus I’ll then be on my own for a friend to ship it back vs work (~$3k) wondering what the cost will be to order fresh back in the states

Agreed. It is currently unheard of in the United States and even for repeat clientele.
Edit, Our BMW stores are no longer adding a ADM to non-M vehicles as inventory has finally improved. For the foreseeable future we are still adding a $5k ADM to all M vehicles. Last edited by T_U_D; 01-14-2023 at 02:04 PM.. |

Here in souther California I have heard of ADMs going from 5-20k with a place in San Fran estimating 30-40k. So, as others said, run with it!

Out of the above options, I probably would have selected number two. Note, that is solely based upon the 1-6 options presented. |

I was originally intending to go with number two, but I got a very bad feeling when interacting with the CA. He was aggressive, disorganized, and said some inappropriate/unprofessional things to me. I decided to run!

Something to always consider, what the service experience will be like if you were to purchase from one of the various local BMW Centers. Your interaction with the front of the house, sales department is limited versus the multiple years spent in the back of the house, the service department. Food for thought. |

My center I go to for a lot of my service wanted 5k over MSRP, wouldn't budge. I called 5 other local spots and got 3rd on a list @ msrp with 2500 order deposit. Went into my primary bmw center 2 months later and had another guy in sales talk to me in the parking lot while I was looking around while waiting for service to be completed and he then offered at MSRP. I wish they did that in the first place as it's my favorite center.

My dealership has 3 orders taken at $10k over MSRP. We will see what actually happens when allocations start coming in. I am at a smaller store so who knows when we will even get an allocation. My guess is that the first batch of cars will likely go for 5-10k over MSRP at most dealerships and then level out at MSRP after the first year. 5% discount? That's invoice pricing. I can't see why any dealership would offer that. It doesn't make sense.

I feel like if they want a large deposit they should open a high yield savings account and give split the profit at the end of the day because they are doing just that except not giving you the cash

Interest on my 5k deposit amounts to what? A tank of gas? I'd rather have that than ADM any day.
