Anyone Ordered a G87?

I've been thinking I want an M2 for a long while now. I spoke to my dealer and they said I could be 3rd in line to order when they get their allocations, for a $1k refundable deposit. Has anyone else ordered, or reserved a spot in line? He also told me no ADM, car will sell for MSRP.

Do you think it'll make a good daily? I like the size of my M340i and am a bit hesitant about giving up some functionality but the driving experience should far outweigh that. One big concern I have though is the disappointing lack of colors for both interior and exterior. That is kind of my big hang up right now. Are they offering Individual at least for the exterior, if so what is the cost?

Many many many people here have already put orders in the order bank. You can do some searching and read threads about it.

yes many orders. msrp is good.

whether it's a good daily depends on what you do in a day. i have no passengers and no cargo so it's fine for me.

it is confirmed there will be no individual colours at launch

Most of us here have been on a list for maybe six months to more than a year with an order in and no allocation. Get your order in now and be prepared to get it some time in 2024.

Come May it will be two years for me. Clearly I have gained a lot of patience as I generally have none.

If you put your order in two years ago, I would think you would have known you would be waiting an extended time?

Clearly…

One, my order was not put in two years ago. Impossible. Secondly, my name was placed on an internal list for allocation number one which still stands to-date. Lastly, my build has been in the order bank at status 47 since the weekend the G87 was shown at The Performance Center in Greer, SC on October 15th.

I hear ya. Was originally going the way of the M4 but after driving home the wife's M240, the order for the M2 went in, deposit paid, and I am #3 with 47 status.

I was told by the dealer I’m working with today my order is still in 47 status, but I’m 1st for the allocation and they will send me an order number as soon as they receive it. I sure hope that means sooner than later

Thats the way it works. Status 47 means your order is in the order bank. Once the dealer gets the allocations, when you get one you will be given a production number (which will allow you to track the build on BMW NA's website) and your status will cgange to 111/112.
