Two weird things since software update (locks and interior lights)
Since installing the software update, two electronic/electrical malfunctions of my 2022 M240ix have occured:
1. The doors no longer unlock as I approach the car or lock as I walk away. 2. The interior lighting does not go on when I open or close the doors. The interior lights will only illuminate with the engine running and the doors closed. I have reviewed all of the settings to see if they were changed because of the software update and that does not appear to be the case. Has anyone else ever experienced similar issues?

I’ve noticed my car doing this (iDrive 7) every so often, but if I restart iDrive (by holding the power/mute button until the screen turns off with the car running) then it goes away for a while

Not sure why you’ve only just updated to 07/2021.55 when there has been 03/2022 & 11/2022?

When I run the "Update software" process I am told there are no updates available.

In which case you need to speak to either ConnectedDrive customer services for your part of the world, or take it your dealer & see if they will update the software by direct connection. 2022/07 was a major update, so I would recommend you get this done.

Here's what my car tells me.

So, I followed the instructions to reboot my iDrive 7 software. Mixed results:
- The interior lights now go on when a door is opened. - The doors now unlock on approaching the car and lock as I walk away. - The software update still indicates that version 07/2021.55 is the most up-to-date for my car. We'll see if the first two items stay this way or go back to non-operational. Thanks for the advice.

Problem you’ve got is that now you are 2 updates behind, you’ll never get an OTA sent to your car - they have to be done incrementally, and now only your dealer can do that

Ah. Well, it does seem clear that the car won't update itself. I have made a service appointment for next week. Let's see what the dealer can do. Thanks.

That’s the version I have. November 2022 build. No updates available.

Thanks for the confirmation. My wife drives a 2022 330iX and she, too, has the 07.2022.58 version. Sheesh. Well, I hope the dealer can fix this next week.

They also explained the cause of my electrical systems shutting down (e.g., interior lights, proximity locks). Turns out I am not driving my car enough and the battery charge is too low. So, the car shuts down peripheral systems until the battery charge is at normal levels. So far, everything seems to be back to normal. Except the suspension thump...
