One week from today... (G87 M2 embargo ends this Sunday, April 2nd)

G87 M2 embargo will finally be lifted one week from today!

All the questions on how this car performs will finally get answered. I'm looking forward to how the M2 compares to the M3/4. It looks like it's going to be quite a bit more playful than its big brothers.

I predict that it will be highly praised for its driving dynamics. Extremely fast. More stable than it’s predecessor, but more playful than it’s older siblings. Oversteer control is intuitive. Manual offers good engagement but feels a little rubbery. Idrive 8 doesn’t look good but interior is a step up from F87.

I predict the closest comparison to its driving dynamics will be the F87 M2CS.

It is nearly impossible to argue with that.

They seem to be a very pragmatic bunch - I'm sure if there are things that can be taken to their advantage, they'll be happy to do so without letting their ego get in the way. What they also need to learn from Toyota is serviceability without having to take the damn engine out.

Most looking forward to the throttle house review especially since they just drove the Emira.

Hard to articulate. My sense is few details have been shared about the collaboration with Toyota. Wondering what, if anything, this Supra similarity might suggest.

Standard car journalist stuff:
- over xxx pounds, but M engineers have managed to hide the weight
- better ride quality than the outgoing model
- exceptional engine
- no dct but zf is smoother
- read the options and prices
Oh, and dead steering.

Did I miss anything?

Well said. 95% of press reviews are generic scripted nonsense regurgitating company talking points and press release fact sheets zzzzzz

Interested in the Savagegeese review as well as some of the others mentioned earlier.

Hope to see some back to back comparisons against the Supra and Nissan Z, maybe the Z4 as well. May sound like some unlikely cross shoppers in there but with 3 of the 4 having an I6 and the 4th a strong V6, and 3 of 4 being available with a stick (in theory the Z4 may have it someday, potentially from either the Supra or M2)...

Manual Z4 expected to start production 3/2024. FUN car. I'm partial to the smaller size and prefer BMW over Toyota servicing.
