Windshield Scratches?
Just got my X5 delivered last week and I noticed these scratches the salesperson didn't notice (or didn't mention). They appear to be surface scratches and not cracks (shadow from the scratch can be seen in 1-2 of the images). They supposedly want to make things right but I'm not sure if they'll cover a full windshield replacement.
I ran a finger over them and didn't feel any indents, but will try to see if my nail catches on it this weekend. Dealership is 2000 miles away and I got it since it was a desirable color combo (white on tartufo) with the packages I wanted (executive, m-sport) + low mileage. The scratch wasn't visible in the two walk-around videos the salesperson sent me prior to shipping, but it was visible in the photos the car transporter took at their dealership PRIOR to it being shipped to me. Photos here (safe, I promise): https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/oumvt...eojo0xefe&dl=0 Anyone have experience with something like this? Am out of the NYC region if that helps. TIA. |

Get a quote from a high quality glass shop or your local dealer for a OEM windshield replacement. Send the quote to the purchasing dealer and tell them that’s how they can make it right.

^^ This. Removing glass scratches is very difficult.

That had to have happened post delivery. You would have seen it at some point over the last week. I am NOT saying you knew and are trying to pull a fast one. Just that you would have seen it quickly.
And as M5Rick stated, that looks like someone scratched it. |

It was scratched pre-delivery since the car transporter took photos of the X5 and the scratches were visible. They just weren't visible when the salesperson did two walkaround videos prior to the pickup.
