warranty claim

Hi all, I just ordered my G87 M2 which should come next year mid-2024 (EU SPEC).

I’ve read a lot of thread on this forum, and was first considering the MP HAS kit… until I got a quote from my dealer for supply and installation for ca 3500€…

And they are not entitled to fit spacers because here in Luxembourg we need to put the mods on the registration certificate, and that it is not BMW part…

So then I went to look for other HAS kit which are TUV (legal) here, such as KW/HR, which can be installed by third parties providers alongside with spacers, and do the registration just after.

However, I’ve heard about the shocks failure etc also on G80s (so likely to happen in G87), and I am afraid as my dealer told me the warranty would be out if aftermarket HAS installed.

Hence my question : in case of failure on the car (any kind), What would be out of warranty : only suspension or the whole drivetrain, or the whole car ?

Thanks a lot in advance and sorry if this has already been discussed but with hundreds of read pages, couldn’t find my answer !

So, if you install an aftermarket spring, and your shocks fail, the dealer and BMW would likely not help you out of warranty.

If your steering rack fails, it’s fathomable this could have been caused by the springs as well, so that could also be considered an out of warranty piece.

If your engine fails, however, there’s no way a spring would cause that, so it’d not be fair for BMW to say it was caused by me it, and so they should cover that.

That’s usually how it works in North America, but some countries laws and rules are different.
Thanks, that helps !

It is not very different from other countries, but was just thinking as they also said to me for example that an axle back exhaust would also invalid the warranty of the engine… no matter the DP, OPF, tune is OEM.

I am afraid but I don’t like people playing with my money 😂 guess 3500€ for HAS is the price of tranquility …

Just difficult to imagine a BMW staying OEM 🙈
