Artist Render G87 M2 - Revised Without Lego Look

Saw this this morning and thought it was interesting.

Basically everything I hear/read that people complain about has been fixed on this render. Less blocky and less straight lines, framed grills with vertical slats, rounded flares, front end and rear end complete redesigns. He even worked the front headlights and brought the hood body lines down onto the bumper (super nice detail)

I LOVE the G87, and am ordering one for 2025 (hoping its the CS, if not I'm still ordering), and I am one of the few that really like the design and look of the new M2... HOWEVER, this render is a good looking car!!! It seems to be a perfect blend of the F87 and the G87, almost like it should have been in the middle and the G87 evolved from this model.

I'm not saying this is a BETTER looking car (I would still get the G87 over this if they were both available), but it has almost everything changed that people complain about, so its interesting to see an example of the changes. Sometimes when you think something should be changed, and then you see it completed, you realize the original was probably better. May just be the case in the scenario...

Just posting to strike up a fun conversation. We don't need all the hater of the G87 hopping in here to take more shots.

Thought???

Not feeling it. They tried too hard to make it look like an F87 which IMO doesn't work with the cars shape. I also can't stand spats, yuck.

Original looks much better, looks like they melted the interesting lines and destroyed the blocky shapes that actually make the car distinctive and different. Wheel arches look particularly weird.

I don't like the Dodge'ish fender flares.

I agree, that’s the worst part about the render.

Exactly...and they need to stop with that STI wing thing.

front still looks weird.

rear looks slightly better: vents are functional instead of being reflectors, tail lights have a better shape rather than the sideways question mark.

I like it!
I like the design to go back to a traditional front grill, and a less boxy front bumper.

Just found this. To me those renders look much better than the real thing. Maybe a bit too cartoonish, but muche better front bumper.

Yeah...no. And not a fan of shopping cart handle rear wings either.

I love it too! BMW should have vertical front grill!!!

F87 looks good, there is nothing wrong being evolve from the F87 design. There is no need to make radical changes just for the sake of new design. Porsche 911 evolve for 30+ years and still looks good!
