Sly Bracket Plate Mount

This seems like best solution and they say I should be fine without ACC. Anyone have experience with this on G87 yet?

Not sure I would mount it there and block the airflow.

I would just keep it in the trunk and say "oh sorry I took it off for the car show/car wash and forgot to reattach it!".

So far I have not been hassled about it in Vermont.

You really think the plate can affect the airflow that much if I'm never tracking?

Beverly Hills / West Hollywood does not mess around. I will get tickets just parked around town.

See photo received from them regarding placement. Again, think this is better than tow mount options or drilling in the center.

I should know in the next 2 weeks! I will be trying to reuse the one from my G42 on the G87. The adjustability is nice.

The high position should not have much impact on airflow. The quick release Sto n Sho mount is another option. I like this mount, and you can pop plate on and off quickly, but I'm tired of haveing to watch out for parking bumpers it sets so low.

Has anyone got a pic of the final install? The high position in that photo looks pretty good

Front plates here are mandatory so it was one of the first things I bought for the M2. Easy to install, looks better than using the tow hook and won't affect the placement if you have a front lip. For daily driving, I wouldn't worry about getting enough air flow and it's easy enough to remove when tracking the car.

There’s a difference between mandatory and enforced. I’ve lived my whole life in a mandatory state and have never had a front plate and I’m absolutely not about to start now.

So it clamps onto the vertical bars?

Thanks for the photos. I have the Radiator Grill store mesh installed, which gets in the way of the mount piece. I’ll have to cut out a hole or switch to the Stradale mesh instead. (I notice you have that too).

I still can’t figure how this bracket is stable! The clamps latch on to the vertical slat rear openings? Cos the slats are so smooth I don’t get how it can get any traction.

Yes it latches on to the vertical slats and don't worry its more than stable. I've had mine since and it's definitely not moving or coming off.
