Does anyone else find the nav graphics rather lackluster? Here is a comparison of BMW's blue gray on white compared to my 2020 GLE nav which has colored main streets and names you can actually read. The live traffic on the M-B is also much easier to read. I know I can use other nav programs, but the built in is just easy. It is an improvement ofver my F82's though which was like gray on light gray.

But yes, it seems that BMW needs some common sense.

For example, with 36 inches of screen real-estate, they can't fit an odometer or a decent tachometer. Way too much Style over Substance™. I prefer Vorsprung durch technik, like the old audi mantra! Or at least some of the BMW ideals from a few years back. I do feel that they will catch on tho. Hopefully, they read some of the constructive suggestions on these forums!

Am I wrong, isn't there's an odo in the lower left of the left display?

100% agree on tach, BMW's strip gauge designs are awful.

maybe I'm in the minority here but I think the dark/night map works nicely with the rest of the theme on the other screen. This is exactly why I don't use the carplay screen unless I'm navigating... which has better maps than BWM anyway.

I haven't even used the BMW nav. Very happy with how the Android Auto integrates with Google Maps. Getting 3rd party nav on the display, instrument cluster and HUD is just awesome.

I won't talk about Google Maps recent redesign however >_>

Esp when you use the satellite view for Google maps on that big screen… it looks so good! However, only Apple Maps will show in the center screen and on the heads up display

If not sure what that last sentence means. When using Google Navigation I do get the respective info on the HUD and gauge cluster screen.

My gauge cluster always says 'navigation via apple carplay active' and I don't see anything on the HUD. What am I doing wrong?

With Apple Carplay Google Maps directions will not show in hud.. only Apple Maps would.

Google Maps directions would show in hud if you're using Android auto.

Stupid I know!
