ID8 - any way to include heated wheel in the climate auto config?

Had a dig around and can't find it.

My F40 ID7 had temperature triggers for the heated seat and wheel, worked great.

I've been trying the ID8 auto function and it works way better than I thought it would (because I'm very fussy) and I'm happy to leave it on that but the wheel heating doesn't seem to be included.

I'd have thought it would be a tick box somewhere but not found, any clues?

As far as I've discovered, if it's cold enough outside, the steering wheel just comes on anyway when I remote start car.

No remote start here, was -3 yesterday, seats come on about +8/9 so they were toasty.
I've switched on the wheel manually all last week hoping it would "learn" that's how I like it but still manual today at +6 hence the search for an option.

I had a similar thought months ago, I investigated the settings and the manual but I never did find an option to have the steering wheel maintain the last setting. This can be coded in via Bimmercode (or other coding), I can't confirm though since my Bluetooth OBDII dongle isn't new enough to support that function of coding.

I too can confirm that the steering wheel will turn on automatically on cooler temperatures with the remote start, but I know that doesn't help you.

The UK & EU builds don’t have remote start due to legislation, and there is no option to have the wheel heating come on automatically

You guys are really missing out. I use remote start even when it is warm outside just so I can stand behind the car and listen to it start up.

Depending upon where your car is and how cold it is that might make the difference.

Not only are you missing out, you completely missed my point.

Go stand behind your car and have someone start it up for you.

Curious, how do you manage to press the start button & put your foot on the brake pedal when “leaning in”?
