SLOW windows 😩

Why, in the name of sweet baby Jesus are these windows SO SLOW?

I just bought a brand new 230i and the windows roll down so terribly slow. I'm old enough to have driven cars where you had to roll down the windows MANUALLY and I swear the BMW windows are slower than that. Totally defeats the purpose of having one touch roll down functionality. I'm embarrassed every time I pull up to the drive thru window.... 😫

This is the G87 forum. There is a different section for G42/2 series.

Agreed...he probably should have gone with the GT3 RS (I am sure he cross shopped it with the 230 and went with the 230 because of the....trunk space?).

The larger frameless windows on the G87 move at a similar speed to the G82 windows and any other frameless windows I’ve had from BMW and other manufacturers in the past.

Something I noticed immediately. Not a big deal, but certainly worse.

It is what it is OP.
It’s been over 6 years since we had our 135i which didn’t seem particularly fast for window operation, but our G87 isn’t any different from our previous F22 M240i and Z4M (where the windows weren’t much faster than the roof opening).

If you want even slower windows get a G22 4 series lol, my loaner M440i took 10 business days to lower the windows

1st world problem here, who really cares if it takes a seconds or 2 longer.
Personally we don’t run with windows down, keeps the dust down.

Window may be the same but BMW could have used different suppliers for the motor or other internal parts from year to year and model to model. Hence, posting in the G42 forum may be more appropriate.

Oh, to add...I have both a MY23 G42 M240 and a MY23 G87 and I wouldn’t say it is slow or fast. It is about the same as my previous MY19 S3 (my B9 S5 was a little faster but ironically the internal mechanism broke within the first year). I would rather have it a tick slow than fast and bottoming out.
