Gaslid unaligned

Hi
Is there an easy way to adjust the position of the gaslid in closed position? It pokes out a little in the lower back.

I'm not that familiar with the way the lid is fastened to the car and right now I don't feel like going outside and walking to the garage to check. It is 23F now.

The lid poking out a bit could be due to some minor fit misalignment.

Is there a chance the gas cap tether is causing the lid to not close completely?

Does the lid lock secure the lid?

Checked both my M2 and my 230ix fuel lids. While they are not perfectly flush the mismatch is not bad. Just enough to feel. I'd hazard a guess the fit is I believe what is referred to as commercially acceptable, within whatever tolerance BMW allows for the fit to not be flush.

Of course I have no idea how bad a fit the lid on your car is.

Planning to have this looked at when the car is in for servicing. Couldn’t see a way to adjust it myself, upon quick inspection.

I’m surprised that I didn’t notice it until fairly recently. Have had the car about 8 months.

That is way way worse than the fit of the lids on both my 230ix and M2.

And bad enough to justify bringing it to the attention of the dealer.

When I had my Giulia there were a bunch of reports of the same thing. Fortunately didn't happen to me. Has something to do with the way the flimsy outside plastic is bonded to the hinge mechanism. Dealers replaced them, there was no adjustment possible.

With the Alfa, owners reported this happening months after ownership so was not a QC issue.

Looks like a trip to the dealer, unfortunately.
