How do we explain the dyno of the MY23 and MY24 at 477WHP videos circulating compared to this new power boost? If they truly do up the power vs just marketing tactics (since we are already at over 470hp if these videos are true), I wonder if the MY25 will achieve about 500WHP dynoed.

So it seems the HP bump is just for the ZF Auto, not manuals? Or perhaps not known yet.

Seems like a bit of a slap in the face to the first year, year and a half buyers (if it is a true power bump.) Has BMW done this before, giving more power to an M car before an LCI/comp version?

i can only speak for myself, but i will say this as a current 2024 owner- i feel in no way, shape or form ripped off about 20 more hp. in terms of my wishlist for the car, more power is very far down in order of priority. if the update gave them, oh lets say, a proper gauge cluster or a louder OEM exhaust, then yea i might have a sense of regret on my early adopter decision...

As someone who just picked up their 2024 with carbon package, I knew this was coming, but the thought of waiting an additional year (making it two years total) for 20HP didn't seem worth it.
The potential risk of missing out on a manual and possibly losing the ability to order the carbon pack strengthened my decision to keep my current build. The fact that it's the same exact engine makes me think there could be ways (either OEM or aftermarket) to gain that 20HP down the line. If it was rumored to be a bigger bump, like the first year Supra, I may have opted to wait. The only real downside is extra depreciation down the road for the 23/24 models, but I didn't buy this car to make money. I just wanted something fun & modern to drive. I knew it was going to cost me! |

What they will do instead is offer you to trade up. Don't get me wrong, if they actually figured out a way to offer this it would be awesome, I'm just giving you a reason why they might not think it's feasible. |

If the MY25 came with a carbon trunk spoiler or maybe the updated interior the new facelift M4 came with, I’d be sort of upset. But if it’s 20hp and some additional colors, I’m just swapping for the BMC air filters (10hp apparently) and doing my exhaust and that’s that. |

I also just bought a MY24 on Friday with carbon pack + 6MT so WHOOPS! Lol. My second G87.
Bring on the MY25 (as long as it’s not way cooler than my car). |

same deal here, could've conceivably waited for the '25 but if they don't start production until August you're probably not getting one until late fall sometime, I don't care enough about 20hp to wait that long

But like you pointed out, they would probably be happier to trade in your MY23/MY24 for the MY25 if it were that important. |

Taxes and Depreciation cost would not make it worth a minimal power gain. Wait will 2027, drive your card hard then trade it in. Then the cost would probably worth it. But by 2027 there might be something else to buy… it will never end until realization of what one has already is enough and to have any M2 (f or g) should be enough. If you wanted an m2.
