G87 Music Playlist
Just wondering what people listen to while driving.
Not that I need to set the *mood* to drive the G87 but occasionally with the right kind of music, that enhanced the driving experience for me. I think highway cruising music is different than windy backroad music. So what do you guys listen to? |

If windows are down, my engine (music would have to be blaring loud to hear anything discernable over it and it would still just be a mess sounding). With windows up, if not listening to the engine, I am usually on Sirius 18, 25, 26, 27 and 31 (late 60s to early 80s classic rock).

I have my Spotify set to shuffle through my liked songs. It's a mix of things I like and things my kids have liked (the algorithm must be so confused....). If there aren't any bangers playing I just turn it off and listen to the engine.
Some music that gets the juices flowing on the road are: covers by Our Last Night, Mark Tremonti sings Sinatra, Etta James, Rebolution, Snoop Dogg from the early/mid 90's-- I like lots of different stuff.

For me it's hard to listen to the engine when my fun vehicle is a supercharged Z06 with Corsa Xtreme exhaust. Nothing really competes

Not impressed. I still hear in my head my Maverick Grabber 12.5:1, 590 solid lift cam, oversized valves (Chevy valves in the Ford heads), full roller rockers with just header extensions at Gainesville Raceway... |

I wasn't immediately in love with Fear Inoculum, but seeing much of it live 7-8 times since it's release, there are some really great tracks on it.

I try not to listen to music while driving hard. I've always heard that it was a bad idea. You can't hear what's happening with the car. I've experienced how loud music can get me worked up and become a little too aggressive with the throttle too.
Otherwise, I have a few presets that I roll through on XM. A couple of the current hits channels, a few of the classic rock channels, the Ozzy channel, and an old school rap channel maybe. I might pull something specific up on Apple Music on occasion and/or play their stations. I had some Rush and Dire Straits on last weekend in fact. It just really depends on whatever is happening currently in my life if there is a musical theme that fits. |

I listen to channel 37 Octane on SiriusXM. It's mostly new hard rock.
On my imported music, I have a variety of artists from Adele to Frank Zappa and lots in between - Avenged Sevenfold, Beartooth, Joe Bonamassa, Bring Me the Horizon, Deep Purple, Falling in Reverse, Gojira, Muse, Our Last Night, Robin Trower, Spiritbox, and Winger. My favorite by far is the hard rock sisters from Mexico named The Warning. New album coming in two weeks.

Do you get into Opeth at all (not the older screamo cookie monster stuff, but the newer pure prog-metal goodness, like Pale Communion, and maybe some Steven Wilson Raven.

One of my favorite TOOL songs to play on guitar is 'Forty Six & 2'.
