G87 Zurich vs Xpel

Just a question for the community. I have the Zurich shield that BMW offers on my M2 which was applied end of September 2023. I want to put the Xpel on the vehicle. Can the Xpel PPF be installed over the Zurich or does that coating need to be removed I’m not sure any help is appreciated!

If it’s a ceramic coating then that needs to be removed prior to PPF so that it adheres properly

Can I Have XPEL Paint Protection Film Installed On Top Of My Ceramic Coating?

We would not recommend this, as it may result in poor adhesion to the painted surfaces. Professional removal of the ceramic coating is recommended. You may install XPEL FUSION PLUS on top of your XPEL Paint Protection Film. Check with your local installer for more details.

Any type of "protection" whether ceramic coating or even wax need to be stripped off prior to ppf. In other words, dobt put anything on the car before ceramic (you could have asked the dealership to deliver the car "as is" (as it came off the carrier) so they dont wash, wax, treat, buffer, etc before delivery.

If you are having paint correction done (which is highly recommended), that will take off the treatment.

I wish u was doing paint correction but I’m not. I didn’t know about Xpel n I sat with the dealer and was like man….” Man Zurich not expensive protection for the exterior and interior I like. Questioning BMW was a waste of my time they didn’t know.
But thank you to the community for helping out. Much appreciated!

Be careful with that Zurich, if you read the 'fine print' it basically says if you do anything that they feel isnt good for the coating than its void. However the interior protection isnt bad from what i read, I have a 6 and a 8 year old that love to ride in my car so there will always be a chance for a mess.

At this point the Xpel is better so I will discuss with them I only want the interior protection that’s it.
I am also reconsidering my rim n tire protection feels like a waste

I never bought into those BMW protection options.. very expensive and can be done a lot cheaper elsewhere.

I don't think BMW themselves have anything to do with Zurich Shield. This is purely a marked up crappy detailing product line sold by your dealer. You will probably need to have it removed unless you're good with the risk that the PPF adhesion is not good.
