New Netflix Series: 100 Days to Indy
Hey All,
Started to watch this series on Netflix yesterday. I am a few episodes deep in watching it. First initial thoughts are, F1 does things so much better. The way the F1 car looks, the sound of the car is just top tier! To me, everything that F1 does is just the best of the best and Indy Car looks like a pee wee team trying to figure things out. Everything on the Indy car side looks pieced together. All I knew was Indy car 10 years ago and have slowly made my way into F1 about 8 - 9 years ago and really have ramped up my F1 love 5 - 6 years ago. I don't know. F1 seems to me, so much better than Indy car. I know Indy car has been around for over 100 years but F1 just does everything better. Not bashing Indy car but just telling you all my observations. I do love the Indy 500. We watch it every year but circle races are just sooooo boring. I've been to the race once and it was fun. Thanks!

Completely agree! Ovals stink! Thankfully the St. Pete Grand Prix to open the season is in my backyard and it’s a road course. That’s a great race! Otherwise, I’m all in on F1 and IMSA is even better because you don’t know the winner prior to the race!

The Indy Cars look like junior league cars compared to F1.

I've learned to appreciate F1 and IndyCar both for what they are. One is largely an engineering competition with mostly world-class drivers and one is largely a spec series (with some deviations allowed, e.g., dampers). I enjoy both. Both have similar hang-ups, like DRS/P2P masquerading as actual overtaking, fuel/tire save competitions, etc. Both have gatekeeping fans. IndyCar marketing is abysmal and the car is ancient by today's standards.
Personally I enjoy sportscar racing over both of these; the access and value for the money you get is fantastic and neither IndyCar and certainly F1 do not compare favorably with it. BOP keeps things relatively close. We should appreciate what we have now, because who knows what will happen in the next decade or two. |

The Budget of F1 vs Indy has a lot to do with the difference in teams, cars & talent….
It always takes one third Car, one third Driver & one third Team…to have a winning Championship…. |
