Get rid of the sunroof and it's under 3,700 lbs.

Whatever you do, don't feed the troll here. Nice work on the weigh in.

it's semi-humorous, semi-serious commentary on how most drivers need to apply a weight reduction system on themselves before worrying about the car. besides, there's plenty of weigh in posts. dont have a cow, man

All the weight stuff is overblown with this car, BMW’s haven’t been light in a long time. This is similar to a sunroof e9x or sunroof f8x.

Coming from a heavily modded 18 s550 prem pp1 this car is actually lighter and more nimble. Not to say there is not room for reductions, hence the current journey, but definitely no complaints so far.

Carbon roof, wheels, seats, and some light exhaust mods and you can drop 100lbs. I have a manual with CF roof and will be doing this. I run the car in TT so will get it weighed. I would expect the car to be around 3625lbs which is basically the same as every BMW since the E9X. I'll take the small bit of extra weight for all the significant chassis improvements (rigidity, bracing, stronger hubs, bigger brakes etc. etc.). BMW's are not light cars unless you are driving something completely stripped. My friends E46 race car that weighs 2800lbs with driver, full aero, and built S54 making 380HP on slicks - now driving that thing is an experience

In hoping to weigh mine in a couple of weeks. With the carbon package & my lighter wheels, its probably in the 3500s, so no heavier than my F87C.

You wont be close to 3500 without some more significant weight reduction, probably closer to 3660 on a 1/4 tank. The carbon seats aren't much lighter than the standard sports seats.

I read somewhere the total weight reduction was approximately 33lbs total between a set of buckets and the standard seats iirc.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/AM7t7CHCpEo BMW has them at a 10KG (22lbs) saving over the sports seats. https://www.bmw-m.com/en/topics/maga...ce-weight.html In this Jackie Ding video you can see the stock seats vs a Sparco, and its around 26lbs difference. Assuming then you save 20lbs on the wheels total, and 22lbs with stock carbon buckets that brings it to around 3660 in a manual carbon roof car with buckets and 1/4 tank. If you started with a manual carbon roof sports seat car and added carbon race shells from Sparco, OMP etc. It could look something like - Car stock - 3700lbs - Race seats - 50lbs - Anti Gravity Battery - 36lbs - Lighter wheels - 20lbs Brings it to just below 3600lbs, and that's not including changing the exhaust where you can drop 20lbs with just a midpipe/resonator delete. Basically this is a long way to say you can lighten this car a bit without anything too intrusive |

A carbon 6 speed car is 3700 lbs. with a full tank. Full tank is like 14 gallons. One gallon of gas weighs 6 lbs. 10 gallons is 60 lbs. That's 3640 lbs. with 1/4 tank. Take off 40 lbs for wheels and another 10 plus for exhaust, there's your 35XX car. Guess we'll know in a few weeks.
