The computer says I’ve averaged 24.2mpg since the factory. I have gotten over 30mpg on some trips but would say I am generally around 26-27mpg on the highway. I drive in M1 mode most of the time so could probably get a little better fuel economy if I were in normal mode. I have the auto transmission which is rated for 23mpg. I’m not doing anything special and easily beat that.

Biggest factor in fuel economy is how one drives the car. And when one drives the car. I try to combine errands rather than go out for groceries. Then later that day or the next day or so to the drug store. Inflating the tires to the proper pressure and keeping them there is important. However over inflating the tires is not advisable. Keeping the engine in good tune is important too. A bit early in your ownership to think too much on this but keep in mind adhering to the factory service schedules with regards to engine air filter (and cabin air filter), plugs, etc., is important. Had my Hellcat in for a service at around 25K miles. Asked that along with the oil/filter the tech replace the engine and cabin air filters. SA brought the old ones out to me -- as I had asked (not to ensure they were replaced but to simply see their condition) -- and while I don't recall the cabin air filter condition I do recall the engine air filter was quite dirty. On the way home the engine clearly was running better. I didn't monitor gas mileage that closely to note any change in gas mileage but I would have to believe there was some change and for the better. 'course, the above was self inflicted. After I got home I checked and Dodge called for engine air filter replacement at 20K miles. So don't do as I do do as I say... |

I replace engine air filters every 15k miles on all my cars, no matter what the factory maintenance specifies. They're cheap. I got BMC replacements to go in day 1, so technically should never have to replace them, just clean/refresh them every 15k or whenever they're dirty.
