Zunsport oil cooler mesh - fitment hacks

So I picked up the zunsport mesh for the underside, and a friend helped with the DIY.

He pointed out that the mount bracket of the mesh doesn't sit flush with the OEM mount point on the car plate. he suggested getting some washers to make the bracket sit flush, and get an extended screw to replace the OEM 10mm hex bolt.

(photo where he's pointing how the other hex bolts sit flush in the mount point, versus the one installed over the mesh bracket.)

Anyone else considered some tweaks to the install? i'm a little concerned how sturdy it is with the original install instructions/parts as per Zunsport.

I've had mine installed for nearly 9k miles. The only change I made was a little bit larger screws for the rear.

You can do as I (and others ) have done and tuck the mounting tab under the plastic rather than over like the instructions have it.

Agree'd - mine is installed this way as well. My mech saw this potential immediately. Recommend!
