AST ADJUSTABLE SPRINGS - Front Creak / Scraping sound
Hi All
I have bought my car with AST adjustable springs - lowered to the max height. The only issue i have is at full lock or tight carpark manouvres front has suspension creak sounds and sometimes scraping sound at full lock is this just a normal side effect of having adjustable springs or does this need to get replaced or looked at??? never had adjustable springs so i cant compare that to my normal experience any help would be appreciated!! |

My guess is the scraping sound is your front tires rubbing on the inner fender liner vents. If so, replace with proper screening (with all parts being stainless steel) or go bigger buck route with aftermarket liners. What size are your front tires and how low are you lowered? |

Scraping is due to the wheel rubbing against the inside liner at full lockout during reverse and sometimes forward movement.
Mine does the same with aftermarket wheels and dropped on VTF’s. You either live with it or buy aftermarket liners that are extended…or cut out yours to make room (I don’t recommend this). |

Correct, dont cut the vents and leave open...you remove the vents and use SS screening with SS rivets. Way cheaper than the aftermarket liners and fully functional. No more rubbing for me. This is not my liner but a liner for another car my builder did, same way we did mine. |
