Not super surprising. Their training data almost certainly has an order of magnitude more F87 photos as “M2” than G87.

Also know that most LLMs do not have the latest data. I would bet if you asked the model, it would say the latest data it has is from 2022.

I had it search and use current images as a reference point but it seems like image generation isn’t something it’s good at going outside training data for. I’ve had much more success using it for actual real world scenarios at work lol

That said, sometimes I wonder if somebody at BMW asked AI to make the G87. “Make me a BMW M2 that looks like if the E30 M3 and F87 M2 were combined. Now add 10x the fender flare”

Likely so - and as I mentioned above probably even moreso for image generation. It does pretty well these days if you ask about what things may fit a G87 with I’d say about 90% accuracy
