Technique for Adjusting MPHAS?

Has anyone adjusted their MPHAS height themselves? What teqnique do you use? Any step by steps to ensure level adjustments that don’t require re-alignment?

Personally, I wouldn’t lower without another alignment.

From your post, I take it you haven't done this before? Take it to a reputable shop...and yes, car should be realigned with any height adjustment.

Not talking about install. Asking about adjusting slightly from port installed drop of -10mm down to -15 or -20mm.

According to this video looks like it should take 1min to do…. I guess you just jack it up and do equal turns on each side. Curious if anyone has done it before with MPHAS

I intend to have mine lowered another 10mm from the port 10mm setting in late October.
I would never do this alone. No guarantee you’ll be able to measure precisely yourself.

Then an alignment.

Camber absolutely changes when you adjust coilovers or HAS. Needs to be aligned after every adjustment.

Hmm adding 5mm of drop (.2 inches) of additional camber from an already aligned car is probably ok right? Do these even camber plates? Sorry, I’m a newbie when it comes to this stuff, but I feel like there is a decent amount of camber to play with that won’t really harm anything driving or wear wise? I just used AI and it’s saying 5mm drop is essentially 1 degree of camber..

"AI" being as inaccurate as is often the case and generalising things as it frequently does. It depends on the suspension design, with a BMW strut suspension, it will be a lot less than that, closer to 0.1 of a degree than 1.0.

Why don't you want to for an alignment after adjusting your suspension?

Just a pain in the ass and kinda pricey but I think BMW will do one for free within 1200 miles.

Pricey?

So you spend $70K on the car and then bitch about $150-$175, which is about 1/4 of 1% of the purchase price to have the car aligned correctly?

Maybe you should ask for credit on the factory wheels and go for a set of deep dish hubcaps to save more $$$.

Good to know.

Not always. My car was delivered without alignment paperwork. I insisted the dealer contact the port for documentation or do it themselves.

The dealer performed the alignment as the port did not provide any proof.

Did you get one of these. There are only 3 checkboxes.

My dealer has said every single MPHAS car they’ve received has needed an alignment bad.
If it has the option installed, they just automatically do it as part of the PDI now.

Quite frankly that document is useless and unacceptable IMO. It doesn’t display any settings after lowering.

I received no alignment paperwork with delivery. Just my $.02 but I think port employees aren’t super interested in anything beyond installation of the HAS kit.

My dealer performed the work along with a hard copy of the alignment settings.

Of course not. I optioned the HAS on my build and therefore covered by warranty.

There was no proof of proper alignment from the port, not even a ridiculous checklist.

What a rude comment. 🤡

Did anyone actually answer the OP original question? How to make adjustments to the suspension height.
