SST Exhaust Dual Valve Controller w/Dinan Exhaust

Hello!

I recently installed my SST dual valve controller on my axle back Dinan exhaust.

But I noticed that the difference in sound for it being fully open and closed wasn’t very noticeable. And I was wondering whether or not that is normal because I have seen videos of it done on g80s and it sounded very noticeable.

Thanks!

you can test it by looking inside the tips and checking if the valve is moving. if you cannot see the valve, put the car on a lift and check if the spring is moving

I always assumed the valve flap worked since I could hear it switching everytime. Going to take off the tips to see if the flaps actually move since I can’t see it with them on. Hopefully I didn’t just assemble the valves on the exhaust wrong.

Yea it turns out my flaps weren’t even open the whole time, guess I’m going to have to take it off and reinstall the valve flap.

Did you get your flaps sorted out?

I have the SST single flap controller. If I were to get the Dinan exhaust, couldn’t I in theory use the single flap controller, since the second flag piggy-backs off of the OEM single flap connection?

If it uses a Y harness for both flaps, then you could theoretically use a single-side controller.

I don't know if it's worth it, though, since MAD offers the same controller for 1 or 2 flaps for the same price, and SST is only $40 more for the two side controllers.

Nope, not yet. Been pretty busy so haven’t had the chance to reinstall them.

With the connector the Dinan exhaust comes with I would assume you will need a dual valve controller to controll both exhaust valves.
