Returning to BMW

I'm interested in a new M240i after selling my 2014 335i 6 years ago. I was looking at a Supra but I like the practicality of a 240 with the same power plant. I also don't like the lack of paint and interior color options with the Supra. A few things... I don't need XDrive, I'm undecided about leather vs sensatec, I want slick top (no moonroof), other than that I want a loaded car. What negotiating can I expect on an ordered car? When ordering, are you locked into MSRP?

I had a F30 335i myself before getting the M240i and i was considering getting a Supra as well but decided to go for M240i for its practicality and the premium quality. And now after owning it for sometime i am sure i made the right choice!

Ordered 2025 loaded slick top in september, got it last week

In september I negotiated a 3k discount (59150 selling price) and they gave me 1k over what I expeted to get for my trade in.

Another member negotiated a 9k discount on an ordered car in october from the same dealer.

loyalty discount is around $2k usually, should negotiate that as a minimum regardless if you own a BMW or not imo

Post a pic of your new car if not too much trouble. The more I see the car the more I like it! Deciding on color combo is killing me!

Damn, 9k off an M240i or a different model? Did that include rebates?

Did you trade in a BMW or a different brand?

I thought that's what you said you got! Lol, what was your discount?

I traded in an audi Q5. They didn't even look at it before giving me a firm trade in value.

My detailer says it's too wet out, I can't pick up the car until tomorrow.

It was ~10.25% off MSRP. (No rebates)

Just out of curiosity where is your detailer located? And what was done to your car?

Darn percentages and thousands so easy to mix up.

My car is at "the detail shop boston" Manny is the owner and is really good. I got full car Cquartz diamond in his top tier package (includes a full paint correction) and ceramic tint on all windows, air80 on the windshield. He also installed some of my cosmetic mods for me since he had the car already and was willing I don't mind saving some time!

Debating on the PPF or ceramic myself. I have always done PPF on the front bumper/partial hood/partial front fenders/mirror caps. Have never done ceramic coatings. This will be my first car in 18 yrs I will be using as a "real daily driver".

Also, I just looked up info on Tuxmats and see they only sell full sets. Can you recommend another floor mat company (besides Weathertech)

Get tuxmats!

Ppf is great if you are going to keep the car long term and drive a good amount of highway. You never get the money back on the investment. Just my take on it. I have ppf on our family suv that I plan to keep 10+ years.

My plan is to keep it at least 7 to 9 yrs. As long as it's been a reliable car.
You want to by my rears for $80 and have them as back ups? I never have anyone in the rear seats of my cars so they are useless to me.

How did you achieve 10.25% below MSRP? Was it a car you ordered or already on the lot? Can you share the dealer?

I'm in Massachusetts, I don't know if they would do an out of state deal or even match my deal. I can ask my salesman about it tomorrow. You looking for a M240ix or RWD? Factory order?

RWD, factory. Even if I get a competitive discount in writing at 10.5% I can use that to my advantage at my local dealer. Thanks bud!

You may want to look at existing inventory as a Plan B to avoid 25% import tariffs from Mexico if they are actually imposed. I think tariffs would only apply to imported goods that come into the U.S. after imposition and not apply to goods already in the country - but I am not 100% sure about that. Also just the threat of tariffs can impact the price of existing inventory as well. Maybe it’s just bluster but maybe not. Fun times…

Ps both the M240 and the 230 are made in Mexico apparently. So same issue for either.

Yep, I was going to wait until January to order my 230ix, but I am doing it this year now and will just eat the $100 I have to pay for personal property tax here in Missouri on my current car.
