Spied: 2026 BMW iX3 Reveals More Grille, Frunk Area, More Headlights, Tail Lights
See the latest spy iX3 photos showing more of its grille, headlights, and tail lights. The frunk area features a cover / shroud of some sort, possibly as camouflage for an actual frunk space.

Loving this trend of SUVs getting longer and lower to slowly convince us all that wagons are really what we need. I’m here for it. The US needs more wagons and smaller vehicles that don’t weight 7000lbs just get Starbucks and a target run for the Stanley cup crowd

I do hope that frunk cover is indeed camouflage. It looks a little finished to me 😂

Eagerly awaiting what the range will be.
From https://www.caranddriver.com/bmw/ix3: "Neue Klasse platform will use an 800-volt electrical architecture and batteries with up to 20 percent higher energy density compared to what's in production now." |

I’m more excited for a weight reduction. Ie same 300 miles and 500lbs lighter.

Weight is the bane of all the EVs atm, but i am hoping every gen from now on will keep loosing weight that will give us far more range then just slapping more batteries in there that increases cost but also gives a bad feedback loop where more weight causes less range causing more batteries needed to keep range and so on and so forth.
So i hope there will be some focus on weight reduction, i wonder if we will ever see an i3 type of vehicle from BMW again where the whole car is simply carbon fibre pretty much that would be very nice to see. I imagine that an i3 version today with the next gen batteries, drivetrain and the carbon body of the i3 would be somewhere around 450+ km of range if not even more. For the same 44 kwh batteries.

I disagree. Weight has increased because size has increased, especially for mid and full sized cars/SUVs/trucks. On small cars, sure. But those have almost all disappeared (US/Canada).
Reportedly, the NK batteries are 20% denser and much more efficient. So it’s possible for BMW to maintain decent range (~300 mi) while simultaneously reducing weight and size. We will soon see the details!

From what I can see this is going to look miles better than the new X3. Wonder why they chose not to design both SUV's the same, considering the new 3 and i3 will be virtually identical.
