Another Alibaba Exhaust Success

Hello friends. The stainless steel exhaust I ordered through Alibaba arrived last week, I had it professionally installed, and wanted to share my thoughts.

https://m.alibaba.com/x/xiOn0Tz?ck=pdp

The order process is very simple. You just start a chat with the company on the product page. You let them know what you want, they let you know the price, you pay, and it ships.

From the time I placed my order until it was at my front door, was just under a month I believe. Everything was just over $1,100 shipped. $360 of that was the express shipping.

The exhaust is excellent quality. The welds are good quality, fitment is nice, and it sounds nice and throaty, not obnoxiously loud, a nice deep tone. I'll post some sound clips later on.

For now I'll post some pictures.

I am glad everything worked out great!! Love hearing success stories especially when it comes from saving thousands and hopefully this shows these companies that this is not worth $3k+

Thank you. And yeah, I agree completely. It is absolutely not worth $3,000. Not even $2,000. Lol. It's nice, and it does the job it's supposed to. But at the end of the day it's just steel tubing and a muffler

Those welds are absolutely not high quality. Those are some of the worst welds I've ever seen on an exhaust, even from Alibaba, and the heat control looks like it wasn't even considered.

I screenshotted your photo and highlighted the welds for better visibility. There isn't a single weld on any of my Active Autowerke systems that looks anything like this, and if there was they'd replace it immediately.

I hope you don't live in a cold climate. Those welds will not survive long in a north east winter. Good thing is, it's cheap, so replacing it won't cost much.

I hate to rain on someone's parade, and if you're happy with it, good for you. I felt the need to comment because you're calling this a success and recommending it to others. I think it's important to have an alternative perspective.

Another really cool nice feature is the two remote controls for the valve system. They're actually made of steel for the outer casing. Very heavy duty

I'm going to try to do an idle, a rev, driving, and most importantly, driving through a tunnel lol.

Like I said, it's not overly loud. It's not obnoxious at all. As a matter of fact, just driving normally with the valves open, it sounds fairly tame and normal

With the valves closed, it's even quieter than stock was

I don't see any big problems with the welds, at least not for an exhaust application. Could be much prettier, sure. But the sections you highlighted are generally gold in colour, that means it had less heat and/or better gas shielding than the blue portion. Less colour is better when it comes to welding stainless. The dark tinge around the welds also means the base metal could've have been cleaner before welding. Not really a big deal, could've been hit with a wire brush or scotch brite but overall the welds aren't close to being "cooked." TBH I've seen some AA welds and from what I remember they were fine but weren't particularly impressive.

It is big, and one solid piece. So storage solutions are limited.

My solution -

Just make sure the bike hangers are in the studs.

One thing that should be mentioned , that was mentioned to me by the exhaust shop :

The difficulty and duration of the install was increased due to the included exhaust clamps. Although the clamps are good quality and sufficient for the job - the bolts are low profile. The shop had to at times switch from an impact socket, to hand tools to get everything completely tight. And obviously a shop would prefer to use power tools and not have to bust their knuckles using hand tools.

Yeah, I'll do that later today. I tried a quick one last night, but in the enclosed garage my phone recorded it distorted and terrible lol.

Since I happen to have an Active Autowerke exhaust in my garage, I figured I would post some comparison shots.

Certainly seeing much higher quality welds on the AA piece. 1700 shipped

Oooh that's nice! Very good welds.

I updated my original post from "High Quality" welds to just "good" welds.

Unfortunately many of us don't want to pay close to $2k for an axle back muffler, AND you have to hack your OEM exhaust apart.

And only one valve on just one of the exhaust pipes ?

ever used an exhaust cutter? makes a super clean cut easily and then you just get a sleeve clamp if you ever want to put it back together.

Anyway... I'd probably think those welds are fine in Vegas.
