Is it rude to get your wife a vacuum for Xmas?

Let’s say a Shark vacuum or something fancy. I can see both sides to this

There are worse things. Like a Peloton bike.

It's recommended to refill with fresh coolant and to use the genuine BMW vacuum bleeding set. The hose will suck out all the air, as demonstrated here:

It depends. Do you think you'll *like* sleeping in a tent in the back yard for the next six months?

There's no way to recover from this one that won't be expensive and involve diamonds.

Rude? Absolutely not. It's a great gift. Go for it. Please report back and let us know how she likes it.

I got a robot vacuum for “us” to make it less time consuming. But in reality, she does most of the cleaning and loves the thing. We set up schedules of when to mop or just vacuum, which common areas to do since we aren’t in some of the rooms as often. It’s great.

No, but I would add a membership to weight watchers. She’ll love it!

Many moons ago I gave my wife under the cabinet mount appliances for Christmas . Toaster oven, coffee machine and an electric can opener, and she was not very impressed with the gifts. Fast forward 30+ years and a couple of years ago she asked for a vacuum for Christmas 2 years in a row . A Roomba iRobot vacuum
So yeah, a vacuum is a gift that she will be very happy with

Time for the ol' ignore list. OPs a tool, but they make content and traffic for the site so they're not going to be stopped any time soon.

Rude or not, don't do it. In general, vacuum's aren't good presents.

It's not rude if vacuuming is something she likes to do and the one you're getting her will make her vacuuming more enjoyable.

It's obviously rude if she doesn't like to vacuum and you're covertly (not so covertly) suggesting she do more of it.

My wife loves to vacuum, so I'd get her one if she found one she liked better than her current one...but NOT for Xmas.

As a side note, one of my favorite Xmas gifts I've ever gotten was a vacuum. Yes, I'm that guy.

Quite presumptuous to assume his wife is a female.

I would not do that, not for Christmas. Get something exclusively for her/him, that would bring a smile to her/his face; not an item that helps with house chores...

Why spoil her?

This is all she needs...

And less wrapping involved.

Win win.

Get her a robot vacuum...

Then there will be more time for you two to play pickleball (or whatever else you might like to do ).

A vacuum cleaner for your wife? Sounds like a fair trade to me.....

if she asked for a vacuum then no issues. if you do get her a vacuum get her something nice like a Miele. but dont make it her main present, have her open some nice/romantic things first then give the vac.

It’s better for a milestone anniversary but should be ok for Christmas too.
