Merry Christmas! Pretty much like a weekend here today, as we are not doing family stuff until this coming weekend. Put the bike rack on the X5 and took the fatty for a spin. It was tough breaking through the crusty snow on the water, but the view was worth it. Back to work tomorrow already, ugh.

Every now and then on our bike trail someone with a fat tire e-bike goes blazing by me. I always think how fun that would be with the right terrain.

Last Sunday I went mountain biking with the fat bike, the trails were groomed and just perfect. It was about 25F, the snow was crunchy, and conditions were perfect! Unfortunately, I took a corner a bit too fast, went into the deeper soft snow, and went over the handlebars. Scuffed elbow through two layers, how does that happen and the garments aren't even ripped? Tweaked shoulder, and I hit my head hard enough to crack the foam liner. I needed a new helmet anyway.

Middle son's gift from Portland didn't arrive in time, so instead the Girlfriend-In-Law sent us the clearest ultrasound I've ever seen. Seems we are about 9 weeks into being grandparents for the first time.

You're going to LOVE grandparenthood! My wife couldn't wait to be a grandma, but I was a bit ambivalent. Now we have two! Our granddaughter, now 3, was the first and we have become pretty inseparable! We babysit two or three days a week (we alternate with the in-laws) so get to see quite a bit of them. Our grandson is just 10 months and is growing faster than his big sister. Oddly enough, she naps with me in my recliner (she has since we started sitting when she was about 3 months old) and he only naps in his crib. She still naps with me, yet doesn't nap at home or with the other grandparents. I LOVE our naps! She just sits in my lap, requires me to tell a few stories, puts her head on my shoulder and out she goes. It's such a blessing!
