Track rats and spring rates

Track rats chime in. Figure something like this could help others as they start their builds

Suspension setup : mcs one ways , some spl bits
Spring rates: 700f /1000r
Divorced rear? Yes
Tire tread wear: 100
Aero?: stock
How’s the car feel? Excellent on street but a little soft on fast tracks. Rear is basically bottomed out or tucking rear tires. Going to be jumping up rates to 900/1200

Example pic of my rear tucked in an off camber turn at cota

What are the pros and cons to a divorced rear? I keep seeing it but have no idea myself.

Packaging tightness and clearance from swaybar and other bits Some setups non divorced can have tight clearances or even rub the spring in non divorced setups (pretty common with Supras). Divorced keeps the same as stock layout and leaves a lot of room around the strut body. This also keeps the load path the same vs putting it all on just the shock tower , though, no one has seen an issue with that im aware. Just preference. You can also run lower spring rates on rear of a non divorced setup.

Suspension setup : mcs 3-ways, a bunch of SPL stuff
Spring rates: 800f /700r
Divorced rear? nope- happily married
Tire tread wear: 200
Aero?: Adro rear wing, Verus splitter
How’s the car feel? Nice and tight on the street. I can't imagine it being better on the track but perhaps I will wait to see what you do. I will let you be the guinea pig on spring rates

My car will be in production in couple of days, but most of parts already ordered or delivered.

Suspension setup: Moton 3-way with Dual Digressive pistons, Suspension Secrets full kinematics kit and H&R sway bars
Spring rates: F 170 N/mm, R 140 N/mm
Divorced rear: No
Tire tread wear: 80-140
Aero: AeroDynamics GT-track wing, SpeedEngineering splitter

Can’t wait to build it and race it

Does anyone know the rough math on rear spring rates between divorced/non-divorced setups?

All I think I know is a 700 non divorced rear is equivalent to 1100 divorced. Just based on bimmerworld motion ratio they prescribe in their setups.
