BMW Teases Upcoming Vehicle at CES -- Electric M3 / M4 EV??

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Credit to BMW Blog on Instagram for the video.

During the presentation of IDX at CES 2025, BMW teased an upcoming vehicle. The footage is very shaky, however, I slowed it down and extracted some still images of the front fascia.

The video can be seen here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DEkm9...A1Z284c284cWxn

I do like the new iDrive for sure. As far as the electric M cars, hmmmm. I guess it’s fine as long as they still offer the combustion powered ones as well!!

M3 over 4,000 lbs isn’t a M3

Should have named them something else.

Not a huge EV fan, but I’ve come around since having a Taycan in the garage. I trust BMW to do the electrified M3/M4 right. As long as it doesn’t look too EV-ish.

The current xDrive M3 is 3,990. That’s dry, according to BMW. So, it’s over 4k already.

People said the same thing about turbos in the F80, awd in the G80, the V8 in the E90. Every new generation there’s people saying “this is not a real M3!” based on whatever imagined criteria they use to classify what makes a real M car. At the end of the day, a real M3 is whatever BMW says is an M3 🙂

Are they gonna do a stupid looking split in the lower front fascia again like on the new x3?

Rumor is they are getting rid of the i-drive knob. I hope not. Having both touch screen and the i-drive controller, I hate having to reach for a screen full of finger prints, especially on uneven pavement, etc. Much easier to rotate a click through a list of radio stations.

hmmmm……I’ve been here a while and I don’t remember people saying that. Maybe some with the xDrive. I don’t remember a soul complaining about the V8 in the E90/92/93 M3.

Exactly, people have an issue accepting new things, there is going to be an electric M4, an electric M3 and we will also have a hybrid M3, we can choose whatever we want base in our taste

That’s not a rumor, that’s unfortunately a fact. Not sure why BMW thinks touch and capacitive everything is what people want, it’s not!

Absolutely true. If you have tried a new X1 loan car, having no i-drive controller is so irritating. Noticeable from the first time you have to touch the screen to bypass the disclaimer notice.

Isn't the iM3/M3 released in summer of 2028 ? If so, Why would they tease this so early ? Or is the BEV coming first and then the ICE ?

Nobody will buy EV M3 which will be over $100k, just look at the Taycan.
