i will need a 4WD in my new job, LR3 HSE, range rover sport, 2007 xc90 (facelift) all of these will be loaded

i'd go with the volvo over the land rovers. i don't think the reliability is so great on the land rovers and they are overpriced IMO.

I hope you're not trying to use that to justify a land rover.. (aren't those about the worst thing on the road for reliability???)

the porsche is using a diff engine, tranny..... I have a buddy with one about 35,000 miles in with no issues, wasn't porsche at the top of the JD power list on some other thread on inital quality around here?

Sorry it's not on your list,I would consider an AW X5,the X5 interior is just amazing.
Also the new Chevy Tahoe,well built,they did a hell of a job on the interior as well.

Ross, are those two SUVs your entire range? Will you be towing? The Volvo and the LR are both Fords, is that why those two are in your sights?

Even a used X5 is better than the Volvo or the LR.

i wouldn't exactly categorize the porsche and vw together as far as reliability. and if you are worried about a lemon, why buy a land rover which has a horrible reputation?

having owned a Post Ford take-over Land Rover (Range Rover Sport) I would have to say LR3 HSE...dollar for dollar nothing comes close to all the amenities as the LR3 HSE...price it out and you'll see. And i LOVE the way the LR3 is designed...nothing put there without a purpose...very utilitarian.
