Official Mac Owner Thread 

I'm suprised noone made one before. We need this. A dedicated thread for all of us who have the fortunate pleasure of owning a Mac, as well as a BMW

So whether its software, hardware, news, pictures, etc.. anything regarding mac should be posted here.

My first mac was the first generation intel white macbook. I'm currently on my latest generation MBP, and have a 24" imac as well both running SL, and ofcourse i have a nano, and iphone, pure  fan boy

My current favorite program : tinygrab
Favorite new sL feature - minimize to application and screen recorder.

please share..

Got my first Mac about 4 months ago and Love it! Won't be going back to Windows for personal use after this. It's a 2.4ghz 15" MBP. I also use an iPod touch for my music.

I don't believe one company does it all, so I use a BB Bold for phone proposes.

Nice, congrats. Yup you won't be going back, and you'll always be amazed at what people put up with on windows. I have the 2.5 15", are you running Snow Leopard? if not its only $30 if you would pay for it..

edit, just saw comment about BB, I believe iphone does have its problems, but what about the BB keeps you from moving to the iphone? and please don't say keyboard, because beleive it or not, its actually much quicker.

I got my first Mac just a few weeks ago when I transfered jobs. The company I am with now uses Mac and issued me a 2.33Ghz MBP. I fucking love this thing. I also have Blackberry Bold, and not an iPhone.

My first mac:

I had an Apple IIgs growing up, but that doesn't count. Went through many macs after that MDD G4 Powermac because I always wanted the latest/greatest. Every one of my macs have been pretty much rock solid. These days I have a 17" Unibody Macbook pro maxed out with the 3.06Ghz processor and 8 gigs of ram. Laptops are so fast these days that desktops are unneeded for most tasks.

Only thing greate than owning a mac is when you didn't pay for it, nice. Soon you will get rid of the bold btw blackberry software is coming out for the mac there couple years behind but i hear its great.

I got a chance to play number crunchers on the older macs. I didn't know the pro could take 8gigs thats crazy, definitley would not need a desktop for that. If you did you could just hook up the apple cinema, or buy a dell 30"
I used to hook up my macbook to a 19" dell lcd and use the mighty mouse & kb.

I got rid of an iPhone 3G for the Bold. You're right that I'll get rid of the Bold, for the Onyx. I have the Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac beta. The media manager is good, but I use PocketMac to sync the calendar and tasks, because I can sync one-way, whereas, I can only sync two-way with the Blackberry Desktop Software.

Those powerpc macs were so slow. I do have my macbook pro hooked up to a 23" Apple LED display. If Apple ever makes a 30" LED + magsafe/display-port connections, I'll definitely get one.

I has 8 core Mac Pro, but it's been packed away for a couple of months now. Need to get it hooked up again.

wow, lots of mac virgins here. welcome to the dark side

i actually started using macs in 1996 in Mac OS 7 days.

this was my first mac

OS 7 and 8 were so bad, that i swore off not to touch another mac ever again and went all Slackware linux, skipping OS9 alltogether.

But i in January 2005 i went and bought a G4 Mac mini, on the day it became available in stores. 15" PowerBook shortly after that, then 1st generation 15" MacBook Pro, and now 1st generation 15" Unibody MacBook Pro.

G4 Mac mini is still alive and kicking it, and my kid uses it every day. I have another Intel mini perma-hooked up to my TV running Plex.

That, plus 4 iPods and on my 2nd iPhone

i guess i am a fanboy...

EDIT: Oh, and im using a hackintosh at work, because my boss is too cheap to buy me a mac mini, i've been asking for...

Officially converted in October '06 when my PC crashed a couple days before my Pathology exam, I ordered a 15" Intel-based Mac Book Pro and have been using it since then. Also have 2 iPhone 3Gs in the household along with 1 iPod Nano for the car.
