Share your Ghost/Paranormal Stories!

This happened about 2 years ago. One night I was on duty when I got a call of a suspicious male spotted around an abandoned house in the city. We were short that night so I went to go check it out by myself. I parked down the street, shut down my lights, and made my approach. I walked through the back yard, nothing. I tried one of the rear doors to the garage and it opened up. I pulled my gun out and entered and began clearing the building. It was dark in there and not a whisper. I cleared downstairs and found nothing.

As I started up there stairs the hairs on the back stood straight up and I felt shivers go down my spine. Out of the corner of my eye I saw someone run from one bedroom to another. I chased after it screaming, "POLICE!! Stop!" I ran into the bedroom and stopped by the door. I went in, gun drawn and nothing. Nothing at all. All of a sudden I heard what sounded like a little girl giggling. WTF!?! Someone playing games with me? I radio to my dispatcher and asked if the description of the suspicious person was a male or female. She came back as a male wearing black pants and black sweater nothing further on descriptions.

I exited the room and from down the hall in the master bedroom I heard footsteps. Not loud footsteps but little pitter patter foot steps. I go chase it down, enter the room, and nothing. From the room I had just left I heard the same giggling. I called out for back-up because I heard one of the other officers clearing from a traffic stop.

He arrived at my location and together we cleared the building and found nothing. I told him what I had heard and seen and he just passed it off as a raccoon. Well, raccoons don't giggle like a human girl! We cleared and went about our duties. I told the story to other officers and even my sergeant and they tell me that as far as they know no one has died in that house but then again no one has every cleared it at night either since it was abandoned.

It was explained to me that in situations like that and the darkness, the condition of the home, etc.. it could have been my mind playing tricks on me. Maybe so, but that experience freaked the HELL out of me. I have been called back to that place twice since and each time I had another guy with me. I will never clear that place alone ever again!!

The giggling little girl is wroooooooooooong. I would have bolted.

I stayed at my late grandmothers house by myself when in her town for a quick biz trip.

Big older house.

After slinging down a few shots of Vodka to make myself sleepy I walked past her bedroom......a gust of cold air hit me and made me run outside. It makes my skin tingle still while typing this.

Tried to sleep in another room after a few more shots. Peeked over the covers for about three hours until I finally conked out.

Creeped the living hell out of me. No a/c or heat was on and no windows where open.

Never went back.

I watch that Ghost Hunter type shows every now and then and when that change in temperature happens there is usually a presence involved! Creepy shit!!

2am one night

Around 2am one night a friend and I were driving back from a work conference.

The venue was out of town and we had been driving for about two hours. On a long stretch of road we both noticed a well dressed man standing in the middle of the road, as we got closer I slowed down.

It appeared that the man was asking for help, I slowed right down, we were both a bit nervous as the situation was very out of the ordinary. As we got to the man we both noticed that he was levitating in the air about 2 feet above the ground. I got a very big fright and accelerated away.

It turned out that the previous night there was a fatal accident right at this place where we saw the levitating man asking for help.

^ burnout..............

This thread is making my hair stand up and my skin tingle.

Also that night in my g'mas I heard the wood floors creaking while trying to go nite nite. I wanted to get the hell out of there but could not get myself to get up. I was kind of glued down with fright. And I don't scare easily.

When I was in elementary school, my family used to live in this house that had strange behavior. Once on a Christmas morning, I was woken up by footsteps downstairs. Thinking it was Santa, I rushed downstairs to find no one. I went back upstairs to find my parents were still sleeping. Other times we'd be in the family room, and we'd hear our back door opening and closing (mind you it was a stubborn door to open).

I absolutely haaated when my dad made me go into the basement to fill up his glass of beer in the kegerator he had down there. There was only a light that I could turn on at the top of the stairs, and when I was pouring the beer, I felt as if someone was watching me.

Years after moving, my parents told me the previous owner had killed himself in the garage via car exhaust. I am the biggest skeptic when it comes to anything like this chalking it up to seeing things or coincidental noises sounding like other noises. The mind can play big tricks on you sometimes.

My house in Seattle, WA was haunted. It was an old home, built in 1904. There were two floors plus a basement. I first noticed something off when lights kept turning off. I would leave a couple on upstairs and go down to the kitchen. When I returned all the light switches were off. Huh.... As time went on these things started happening more frequently. I would be in a room watching tv when WHAM! The door would shut (no crosswind or open windows). I would walk into the hall to see the bathroom sink on. The moment I finally said "Ok, this place has ghosts" is when I was upstairs in my bedroom. I walked out into the hall and my bedroom light shut off. Creepy, but at this point I was used to it. I walked down the stairs and as soon as I set foot on the ground floor the stairway light turned off. I walked into the dining room (light on) and as soon as I stood underneath the light.... off. Also things would clang to the ground upstairs when nobody was up there...

It was always very drafty in the house, cold, and windy. The ghost never seemed to be mean spirited, but it definitely was there. Too many things. The ghost never seemed to go in the basement, only the main floor and mostly upstairs.

Think about it, if you didnt have a mind, would you think or imagine scary thoughts? Nope..

Its mostly in your head. Some of the noises can be from how the house was built and how old it is. Our house is new, and when I close one door real hard, the other door across the room closes by itself.

Mind does play tricks, sometimes you are pressured to think scary thoughts because "your in a dark room."

Dont get me wrong, if I hear something like that girl, I would run. If I saw a man be 2 feet in the air, then I would run. Unless their are psycho people out their who fuck around with regular people.

funny you said that because shortly afterward I said to my friend "just imagine he is sitting in the back seat now" We both could not look towards the back seat for a few minutes we were so scared.

So me and my buddy are out burning gas, bored out of our minds, just driving around the countryside, it's a rural area, or was at that time anyway. We are 17ish, not under any influence whatsoever.

It's about 1am (ish) and he's driving, I spot a dog WAY up in front of us, farther away than one would normally see an animal of this size. The reason I notice, is the dogs eyes are glowing RED, not just reflecting, but glowing. And don't most dogs eyes reflect yellow anyway?

It looked to be a German Shepard/Mix for what that is worth.

We come up on the dog, he's in our lane loping toward us, and I say "swerve at that fucker", my buddy did...the dog DID NOT FLINCH, did not break it's gait and ignored us. I guess the hound from hell had no fear of death!

Same damn night, we are still out cruising (brainiacs we were not), after getting the hell outta that area anyway. We for some reason head toward an area that was known (rumored anyway) to be a place where devil worshippers hung out. It's now near a very nice area with 500K+ houses on it LOL. We see this guy, 80+++ years old EASY, JOGGING!, in a RED jogging outfit, along the road, same MO, ignores us, but we didn't swerve at a human, but he didn't acknowledge us in anyway, didn't move over, didn't wave, didn't even look at us. We say WTF, so we passed him, immmediately pulled a u-turn to get another look at him.

He's gone....nothing but cleared fields around, no houses, no trees, nothing, no place to hide, just fucking gone.

Oh, and did I mention at one point my buddy's turn signal indicators (interior) both glowed red at the same time, when they normally were yellow, yeh....

it happened.

Yes, we did call it a night after that...

I will even name the roads, Wolfs Crossing Road (the dog and the lights), east of Oswego, Illinois and Grove Road, south of Oswego (the old guy).

Anyone else have roads that "just don't feel right" in their area? We have several around us. Not sure what causes it, but you get the classic "creeps" on these roads.

I am definitely not one to believe in this paranormal stuff. I am an Engineer, and think of myself as a skeptic.

But, I had one freaky ass experience a couple years ago...April 2007 to be exact.

It was lunch time so I decided to run home and grab lunch. I went to Subway and planned on grubbing down on my sandwich while watching TV. I get inside my house and try to turn on the TV, but it wouldn't come on...or at least the cable box wouldn't. I started pressing the power button again and again, and nothing. I had to reset the box. I went to reset it by holding down the power button, just like a computer. Instead of resetting, the clock on the display showed some weird time, and the TV started flickering and going crazy. Then the TV screen froze on this image. I was scared sh!tless. All I could think to do is take a picture with my cell phone and then unplug everything!

Does anyone recognize this image from a movie or something? I thought it looked like something from "The Ring" but I don't know. Maybe it really is a ghost inside my TV

Living in an apartment by the beach. Sleeping in the master bedroom I woke to feel a presence on my chest, about the size of a cat. I could move my arms/legs, but couldn't sit up until I felt it walk across the covers and get off the bed. I didn't sleep any more that night.
Another time I was sleeping in the guest room. Same thing, but I could see my cat on the floor just outside the room. Cat never went back into that room after that, always walked by with the puffy tail.

Mail ghost hunters or something, if you get lucky they will come over and set up shop... and you might get an interview.

I can see a few pranksters setting up speakers and stuff then calling a false 911 to creep you guys out. It is always possible...

My wife think she sees ghosts from time to time....of course she also saw a UFO...and when she pointed it out to me it was bright green...and it was a blimp that said "Fuji Film" probably on its way to a Raider or 49er game.
