Is there something like realoem for merc???

Hi, my 2009 C230 benz recently died due to engine mechanical fault. It all happened when my sis was trying to drive over to a pool of water of 3 feet in height and the engine die off instantly. Mercedes and/or insurance does not cover flood. so, i am on my own on the repair bill.

According to my mechanic, he tried to turn the crankshaft and is stuck. He suspects conrods are bent( possibly more parts).

So, just wonder do you guys know any online parts seller have got the engine diagram and parts number like realoem.com for our car???

thanks
eddie

yikes why does your insurance not cover a flood?

I've never seen a site like that for mercs, but with a hydro locked engine, it's time to start looking at junkyards to see if they have one

WTF, i drained the oil plug out, it was like atleast a quart of water came out before the oil.. guess the conrods are gone. Hopefully that's all about it... the repair bill gonna be a big one..... wtf...

Not necessarily, pull the spark plugs and turn the engine over, you will probably get a blast of water out of them, then spray in some WD40, turn it over again, put in new plugs and hope for the best, of course change the oil. If it does start, change the oil again.

Long story short, I had a boat that had a water problem, the boat engine was fine.

Not sure what type of insurance you have, but it seems like there should be a distinction between Driving into 3 feet or water and flooding? Are you sure that your insurance will not cover it since it was due to driver error?

Just tryin' to make sure you've got all the bases covered.

That's what you want http://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/welcome.jsp

It's a free one year sub for the North American data set, but you need to have a credit card for access and address verification. The world wide data set is $12/yr.

It's got all the blown-up diagrams you need plus a good tutorial one usage.

But it only works on MS. No Linux or Apple OS.

+1000 On that. It is not even close what realoem is. Realoem was updated like when? February 2009, and its almost 2010. StarTek is updated very often. Some parts are not yet in ordering system, but you have pictures and part numbers out. (I am talking about new LED strips that will replace incandescent fogs in W204s). So yeah it THE way to go.
