Some of My work... (may not all be entirely SFW)

I'm fairly new to this board, as I just got a BMW back in January. I just now saw there was a photography forum on here, which is awesome. Here's a little bit of a background before I show you the shots. I've been shooting for 9 years, and while I'd call myself an advanced amateur, or an amateur pro, I by no means would call myself a pro yet. Studio work is not my strongest point, I prefer shooting on location, and would love to learn more about studio lighting. I shoot only Asian models, as welll as landscape, nature, and other stuff, and have worked for a number of event companies as well as models and sites.

From time to time I'll begin posting in here with new shots. I normally post on Neowin.net, but I'll do it here as well. It's been a few years since I've done any model work, as I was deployed in Germany and Iraq with the Army for 3 years, and am just now starting to shoot again. I shoot with the following:

Nikon D3
Nikon D300
70-200 2.8 VR
24-70 2.8 AFS
85mm 1.4
50mm 1.8

various studio equipment. Saving up to get the next in line, either D800, d900, or d400....whatever comes out. the above bodies are normally rented, as I sold my D200 awhile ago. The 70-200 and 85mm are rented on a shoot by shoot basis as well, looking to buy the VRII

Anyway, on to the shots for today

I'm actually reorganizing my online work for flickr and photobucket, so no full galleries yet...having said that, you can view more of my work on my site, www.modelxposure.com...totally unfinished but contains more of my work.

They're hot, I've only dated asian girls, and when I first got started, I started in the import scene, shooting import models that were all asian, working for sites that shot asian models, and so it stuck. Its not my primary source of income, so I really don't have any desire to shoot girls I'm not interested in shooting. If I was paid, of course I'd shoot whoever, but if I'm shooting for myself or my port, then it's gonna be asian haha.

On another note, asians still aren't as mainstream in media as white, hispanic, or blacks are, so it helps them out as well.

Stuff looks good! Just keep an eye on the model's hair.

Make sure its not out of order like in the large pic #3

very nice picture set. one thing I personally don't like about the b&w candid pictures you've got, is that the harsh shadows is a bit distracting. I'd move the model away from the backdrop and use a flash on the the wall to remove the shadow and make a more high key photo

That was the intended idea, but At the time these shots were taken, I'd been up all day starting 7 AM for work, dragged around the mall with the model looking for stuff, shooting in a hotel for about 3 hours, driving to SF and back, and then the warehouse we did this in....I think this series of shots was done at around 11:30pm, so I was dead ass tired by then running out of ideas, and didn't think to have the model step off from the back drop (shes about 2 1/2 feet from the back).

i could photoshop it to make the light wrap around more, but a little lazy

next time haha

Yo you guys don't have to like them, or what I do... I never claimed or said I was being a good Samaritan, I just prefer to shoot what others haven't... Being that it's a hobby, I can shoot whoever and whatever I want.

My new flickr page is in my sig, and I'm going to start posting more photos as I get time from work to do new shoots. Thanks ALL!
