Does anybody here w/ a 335i own a VW GTI?
I am considering selling or trading my car in for a VW GTI. VW is offering 0% financing on GTI (among other VW's) until the end of June. While the 335i is a nice car I figured I can save money for much more important things... If anybody has also taken a test drive of one of these things, that would be good too. Also, I am considering a Golf TDI although they are not offering the same financing.
I really wish VW would bring the Scirocco here but whatever. Edit: apparently it's not 0% APR... that was for the regular Golf.

Those are supposed to be really fun cars to drive! Just chip it and you have tons of torque down low and great fuel economy. As far as FWD cars go, the GTI is one of the best.

THe MK6 (New shape) 2009+ Golf GTI or the previous shape???
Either are cool though basically I test drove a Chipped 2006 Golf GTI 3 Door completely stock apart from chip to cut things short, the car had so much power, that even mid-high acceleration from 10mph would cause wheel spin lol great car I think if you get the 2door hatch, 4 doors okay i suppose Get the golf R, import it lol, 4 wheel drive is what you need |

Audi S3 is better than VW Golf GTI, and IMO looks better. But none of these is really "fun", MINI Cooper S is much more fun.
Anyway, you won't regret the GTI. |

The GTI Mk6 is an exceptional well finish motor, similar to cars many would consider of a caliber above it, including the A3 and 1 series. As far of driving experience, it's one of the best fwd cars you can buy, equally as good and as much fun as a Mini Cooper S but with much more practicality.
The S3 is also a great little car but I personally rate the Golf R better at many more things so go for it if you are willing to fork out the extra dosh. |

I can't wait for the Golf R (2011), and a nicely equipped GTI or TDI ended up being less than 500 a month w/ no money down. Which is way less than what I'm paying.
Or should I just wait until I move out of the house? I am nowhere near struggling paying for the car but that extra 300 a month (or more because of gas) could go a long way in a few years. Even my parents say just keep it as it's my only real expense.

I do think the Cooper S is more responsive, but god it is not as good as a DD than my GTI. Buying an S3 over a GTI is not a good idea. Same THING except that the engine is producing more HP/TQ. The interior is not as nice, and you are paying MUCH more. Just chip the GTI with APR Stage I and you are in S3/MazdaSpeed 3 easssssilly. The GTI is more spacious than the Cooper and the interior is better. (Trust me, it is). But ya, the GTI is a lot of fun . |
