Baseball Bat to the Face (I saw this happen)

This happened at my high school when we were doing intramural sports. The kid let go of the bat after he made contact with the ball and got a sick headshot on my friend. His forehead was cut wide open and you could see muscle tissue and shit. Blood everywhere

That is an extremely rare occurrence for someone to let go of the bat like that. The batter was just a complete dumbass.

Doesn't matter. In these days of people being sue happy, it won't hurt to take precautions. My PE teacher always had us stand being the fence when people were at bat. And one person in my class threw the bat quite a bit.

For example, parents won a case against Louisville Slugger because they didn't have a warning on the bat to say balls hit off the bat can be fatal because their son who was a pitcher was killed when the batter hit the ball back to him.

thats nothing compared to what happened to my second baseman in HS, 91 mph fastball 2nd pitch of the game to his mouth

face/lips swelled up and his mouth looked like a duck, broke his jaw etc...when it hit him it sounded like it hit his helmet bc he spun around trying to get out of the way, and he just hit his knees screaming

it's a high school and i finance it with my parents as co-signers. my dad's friend owns a dealership and got it for us at $18K. i already saved up $11K over a few years and put $3K down. my car wasn't anything special there, as some had 997's, new S6's, Challenger SRT8's, a few supercharged Range Rovers, and one even drove his dad's 575M to school every once in a while (*none* of them knew how to drive a manual...... fail)

The batter is a moron. Who in their right mind lets go of a bat like that? From the way he was standing and swung the bat at the first pitch it seems like he was trying to impress the shit of of everyone and jack one.

Co-signing a loan for a performance car for a child is irresponsible.

meh not really, especially when you're talking about high school kids who don't even play baseball (looks like that kid hadn't picked up a bat in a while)...Hell, you can find clips of pros who let the bat slip and it goes flying.

The other kids definitely should have been back farther, if not for the bat, then because they easily could have been hit by a foul tip

normally i'd agree but i can honestly say i don't go more than 5 over the speed limit (10 on highways) or drive aggressively. the street is no place for that and i get my fix doing off-roading and autocrossing with my friends on one of their properties. proper tracking will come later
