Got the new iPad 2 last night after standing in line for 4 hours....damn it's nice...real 802.11 N...not like the iPhone. Now I can read the forum kickin it on the couch and see full size pics.

besides size and front camera, how is it better than the first ipad? Wondering if I should save some money and just buy the first one from someone who is trying to sell it.

I am (mostly)...this was my dad's decision to get, not mine.

Don't get me wrong the iPad is a cool device (as are tablet PC's in general) and I would definitely use one if I had one. It's perfect for taking dumps and laying in your bed and surfing the web/watching a movie. I tried to talk him out of it since Dell is giving him a Streak 10 for free and told him to use the money on a radar detector (ours got stolen) or a new videocard for when BF3 comes out, but he said he just had to have the iPad.

What I absolutely hate about Apple is the fact that they restrict you from everything that makes me love using PC's and that is customization. Steve Jobs only wants you to do things he allows and thus he locks everything down and makes you use shitty programs like iTunes. If ever I am given the option I will always take Android. Although my 3GS w/ unlimited data gets upgraded for free to the iPhone 5 in May. I'm happy about that and since I don't have to pay anything I don't care much that I'm missing out on something Android based.

Im sticking with my iPad1, but I have a feeling Apple is going to exile that device slowly like they do to all their previous generation products.

I was really excited for the new iPad, up until they reviewed it, and the 2 things I was hoping for were the 2 things the new iPad lacked: higher resolution screen and good cameras. The screen in the iPad 2 is the exact same screen as in the iPad 1. They didnt put an HD screen in to save on costs, so thats understandable but still a bummer. As for the cameras, many sites are showing their disappointment with them. I think I have a better camera on my cell phone then the new iPad does.

I dunno, I've never been a big fan of Apple products but I love the apps. But the screen and cameras are big downers for me, so I doubt I'll be getting the new one. That, and I love the case I have for mine and it wont fit the new one, haha.

I can't decide if I should sell mine and get the new one. I've only had mine since January, so I'm waiting to see if it ends up collecting dust. But for now, I love it!

That's exactly why you jailbreak it to allow customization and to download 3rd party apps.

Rumor on the street is that another iPad with a higher resolution will be released during Christmas time. Apple couldn't meet the demands so it didn't upgrade the screens but it will be released at the end of the year.

It's not *real* 802.11n. it operates on 2.4GHz frequency, like 802.11b/g and bluetooth. iPad2 has exact same BT/WiFi module, like iPhone4, so it's 802.11n-ish

Not so sure about this. I've got a dual band router Netgear wndr3700. My iPhone 4 definitely only sees the 2.4 ghz band, but my new ipad2 sees both 2.4 and 5ghz bands and I had no issues connecting to the 5ghz band.

Very understandable at this point, as the Android-based superior hardware on the market is having a terrible time fighting against the pricing of the iPad. That was a great move on Apple's part to ensure they keep costs down as much as possible. As much as I can't stand Apple and the Apple fanbois, that company sure does know how to sell stuff.

Unfortunately it was a mock-up, but if its close to the real weight, the Xoom I saw at Best Buy was heavy as hell. Compared to my iPad1, its probably twice the weight. Its expected with all that hardware in there, but damn.
